Download.com is a big supporter of downloading the trial. TO be honest with you though, I'm very very hesitant of downloading it for a few reasons

You're acting like theyre just going to quit midway through the project. That would be the most pathetic thing, considering Photoshop is like THE program that Adobe takes to the bank. |

No I'm saying it's always expensive VERY VERY expensive. Is it worth getting used to and then saving up?

I got an email from adobe like 6 months ago saying that if you have CS2 at that moment you could upgrade to CS3 beta for free. :3 doh i should of done it.

I read in PC Magazine that CS3 isn't compatible with Windows XP. Either that, or they meant that CS3 demands so much, only a Vista capable computer could handle it.

^ Blending feature? Is this new to CS3 or something? Because, I know you can "blend" in the generic sense with the old PS's too.

i run CS3 beta on my CRAP computer and I'm fine. It doesnt knock out your CS2. And the beta does not expire if you have a CS2 serial number so even after CS3 officially comes out, you could still use the beta.
I pirate all my software anyway. The auto-blend tool is really cool but only really works well if you have pictures with similar colors and contrast. |

i dont think im going to upgrade to cs3. pretty soon there will probably be a cs4. though i was told that cs3 has a feature that smooths edges for you or something like that. the whole automatic blending thing sounds cool, but if thats all that it really has to offer,then there isnt really need to upgrade.

I think most people like it for the new UI. Everything is much more organized, and easier to use.
 Revine Edges is cool. You can make your selection smoother, sharper, etc, but with a slider. In CS2 you have to guess your own values when you modify your selection. In CS3 you can preview it as you ease the values.  Filters can also now be used as smart objects so that you can delete them later but still have the original layer (meaning you dont have to go back in history like 432059320 steps)  Device Central is awesome. I'm using it for my phone, and its really easy to use. |

the boxes are collapsable so you can make more workspace and everything is well organized and easier things to do and sutffers
the beta was awesome and pscs3 will be mineeee in just a click mauahah. syke.winkwink |

i'm getting full versions of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator CS3 from one of my coworkers.
I have dreamweaver cs3 right now and its friggin sweet. |

I'm a mac user, and I HATED CS2 simply because it didn't run native on my platform and always took AGES to load. I have CS3 beta, and it's so much faster, now that it's ported over for the Intel macs.
