hmmm.... I'm in a deep state of contemplation now. This question just arose in my mind. Is life predestined or do we control our own fate? It could go both ways. Someone could say that a higher being has set out a path for us.... or someone could say that we control our own destinies... Its a rather complicated subject.

Check that out. It will probably answer your problem in the most logical way. At least it did for me.

I think God does have a path for everyone but I also believe in Free Will so it's kinda both...God has wonderful plans for us but if we don't follow his plans we follow our own, hence free will. So were kinda in charge of our own destiny.

I think its ultimately predetermined... but in a sense we also choose our own fate? When it comes to meaningless things.

I think we are the creators of our own destiny, not god.I mean i believe in him but he doesn't control me.I could easily walk and go have sex with someone who i knew had aids and change my whole life on my own.So yeah I think we control our own destiny/fate [which ever you wanna call it].

We can control some minute thing such as what we're going to wear to school tomorrow, where to spend summer break, and things like that, but we are still not capable of control the bigger things such as scientific laws, death, and taxes. wink.gif

Exactly, hence free will but he does give you choices you could make in hopes you'll make the right one kinda like most parents do wink.gif

O______O i'm not a parent . . . if that was you were calling me xD.But i think the more free will is acknowledged the more it will be believed that our destinies are not predestined but rather changable.Because if the big man is giving us choices then, would'nt that be the same as giving us the power to CHANGE our own destinies? So then how would fate be predestined?I wonder _unsure.gif.I'm not quite sure of what i even just said right now xD

No, I am not saying "your" a parent, I am talking about your parents. I mean didn't they give you choices to make but let you make your own. Well that's the way God is, he lets you choose your own destiny but gives you options to take.

I personally believe that we all have a purpose. Some of us were called to be doctors some of us are born to be firefighters, some of us housewives...

Some people dont believe this is true...

What do you think?

In short, you do indeed have control over several things in your lifetime, but you are a very minute part of a much larger, significance.

I think we all have a purpose but we choose our own fates because we have free will but God does have a plan for everybody it's just whether or not we want to take that path or not.

I find it more accurate to think that I know that I have the probability of fulfilling a determined action. And that said probability of success becomes lesser as I postpone the moment in which I perform said action.

There's no such thing as a 100% chance of success, but we can push it up to 99.999999999999999999999%, so to say.

We're all meant to die but how we live is completely up to us.
