I'm no expert but I think that you can use more layers. Also people have told me this and I will tell you as well (just to help) you should try not to follow the posterization so much in the face. The colors seem a little odd (eyes really). Otherwise its an ok start. I can't really give good tips because I'm a struggling person trying to learn.

I don't want to be a bitch... I really don't but I have to be honest with you or you'll never get better. So here it is. I don't like this image at all, I don't like how her eyes stand out from the rest, an dhow the shirt looks like it was done in microsoft paint. The vector looks like a layer, and noty a real one. I''m sorry but I gotta help you learn sad.gif

Yeah, just as Toya said.. I'm not an expert, but I think more layers (as aforementioned) would help. Also, definitely more work on the eyes is needed -- if her eyes are the focus here, you ought to spend more time/detail with them. Her hair looks a little off.. as well as the background. pinch.gif

The eye color was a bad choice. But as for everything else, it looks pretty good for a first.
The skin shading looks kind of neat to me (just the face), and idk why. It could be better, but it just looks.... gosh, idk, unique-ish... You have a lot of potential, just keep practicing. thumbsup.gif
Also, Check out Vexels.net for tutorials, help, and even inspiration. happy.gif

haha. thanks for the critism, this is exactly what I asked for, and don't feel like your mean, it's the truth. plus the hair is the original image cause I really only did the face. I plan on working alot more on the eyes cause they do look bad. Toya and Kathleen, I will add more layers. THANK YOU!

LOL oh wow XD

Okay, more layers of shading and trasition, and use OPACITY. you need to master the pen tool O_O, the eyes color need to be more soften and more "gradient". right now the vector look VERY choppy. you didnt do the hair yet so i cant really criticize the hair x] but your neck is HORRIBLE.

yeah I rushed on the neck for some reasons and yeah I havent really been practicing with the pen tool as well as I could. But Selvy, you did sound like mean which is good when it comes to this, but watch how you say things.
