Probably three when my grandfather died.
In total I've probably been to about three.
A lot of the times I tell my parents to just leave me at home.
I hate funerals a lot.

I've been to too many funerals.

2001 - My Grandfather (mom's dad)
2004 - My Uncle (mom's brother) & My Dad
2006 - My Grandma (mom's mother) & My Other Uncle (mom's half brother) & My Great Uncle (my grandfather's brother in-law)

Thankfully, I've never attended a funeral. I'd have to be half-way around the world to be there for all the funerals I've missed but I'd like to experience first-hand how an Indian funeral takes place. You know, with the whole idea of cremating the body by burning it on a pyre and whatnot...must be pretty darn scary.

Makes total sense. My former step-sister was the same age I was. She did when we were about get into high school, so 10 or 14. She was everything I hated. Yeah, that sounds terrible, but she was so pretty, thin/athletic, going to be a cheerleader, very popular and everyone loved her.

Her family (my sister's dad (my mom was already divorced from him at that point), his new wife, and 4 kids, including my sister) went to Mexico for a vacation. They had a head on collision with a drunk driver. Amber (my sister's sister, my once step-sister) died instantly.

Her funeral was the saddest thing ever. I've never seen so many people at a funeral. And watching her dad (my sister's dad, my former father in-law, who seemed like such a monster at times) broke my heart. Watching a grown man cry like that was such a profound sight.

SO yeah, you're making sense, James.

Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.
