If you pray for one hour, then you are not praying for the other 23 hours. I have a 5 on the AP Calculus test, but you don't even have to know very much math to realize that 23 > 1. Therefore, you are NOT in prayer more often than you are.

I think it was either you or miss iio__oii that said 'that means they're not true Christians' or something like that in an earlier post.

How do you define a true Christian? There are just too many denominations to keep up with, how do you know which one is right and which is wrong?

But if you're praying more often than not, that means that you must be spending 12 hours and 1 second every day praying. I doubt even the Pope prays that much.

Mere Christianity

i think there is one thing that all Christians have in common
the rest is frosting on the cake
(some prefer chocolate, some prefer vanilla) lol

the one thing is the belief that Jesus Christ, God's Son died for us
and because of that we have the opportunity to have a relationship with Him

Exactly

Denominations came about after Paul and questions about how we are to fulfill living a Christian life

Rudeness is in the eye of the beholder. The loser usually thinks the winner was rude.

back on topic.......u can be Christian w/o praying all the time or reading the Bible all the time...but if ur Christian u love God...and when u love God u USUALLY WANT to read an pray and build a strong relationship with Him...it doesnt make u a better or worse Christian in God's eyes b/c all His children(us) are the same to Him

tranlsation:
Some Christians choose not to read the bible, pray, basically follow God's way. But if you are a Christian you love God and you will want to read His word, want to get to know Him and have a personal relationship with him. Not reading your bible doesn't make yo ua worse Christian, because hey that is not for us to judge because only God know you personal watch(i added the last sentence)

QUOTE(v@por @ Jun 9 2004, 4:11 PM)
let me explain what I believe

you know the story of the prodigal son?
when the son came back the father was waiting for him
well, it doesn't matter if you stumble on the way  as long as you're heading back

non-Christians aren't forgiven or i should say cannot be forgiven even if they repent because the sin is still there
it has not been paid for
it has not been compensated

if you decide right now that you will never sin again
and you succeed, the sins you did before are still there

all sins are the same
even if you only said one little lie in your whole life, and did no other sins
you still cannot go to heaven because
God cannot tolerate even a hint of sin

therefore someone needs to pay the price of sinning for us
that's where Jesus comes in...

wow.... rewind. Since when did God not forgive non-Christians? Ok, lemme clarify, you are entitled to your own beliefs, but I just wanted to point something out.
God is willing to forgive anyone who truly and fully repents from his/her sins. And you pointed out the prodigal son. Remember that the father forgave everything in his son's past, just happy to have him back in his arms and heart?

Can God forgive non-believers?

If the answer is 'no', and I'm pretty sure it is, that's the only thing I have against God.

Well, then, I'm gonna give you an answer that might change your beliefs.
Yes, God forgives non-believers. You have to accept that forgiveness and accept God though...
If you want, I look up some verses or whatnot to support my point...

Are you talking as in the sense of going to heaven or not?
Of course there are good non-believers... but if you want to go to Heaven.... then aside from being forgiven you have to accept God and believe in him... dunno if that made sense...

*sigh*, yes it makes sense, that's the one thing that all Christians in this debated has agreed on.

But it also the one thing I don't like.

why not? why don't you like it? I mean... if you are so... anxious about this, there has to be something inside you that maybe wants to be a part of it all?
What is it that really bothers you?

hug.gif edit:: you're the best so far... edit2:: krnxswat too because you guys are kind of subtle but to the point.

There's nothing that bothers me more than having to believe in something to be able to get a reward for it. (I'll have to explain in detail later... must work...)
