When I post pictures of random cb members sometimes here (like Frankie), mods be warning me and asking me if I got his/her permission to post it and to remove the picture immediately right away .... and other members be sometimes posting my pictures up in threads, and mods don't DO SHIT .. again, this is not bashing or complaining .. just saying what's wrong. i mean if y'all cb community cares about treating other members fairly online, make it happen, not just say it ...

I would think the reason is because its teaching you a lesson on how it feels to be publicly degraded in context of a picture used without permission and altered without permission.

Two things :)

First, I'm going to ask if you could possibly post examples? That way we can see exactly what you are referring to. (For the record, I'm not at all saying that this doesn't happen, it would just help us enforce the rules equally and fairly).

Second, I'm going to move this to Feedback. You're really not looking for discussion, you're making feedback regarding the equality of enforcing rules (in this case, not enforcing others to not post pictures of other people, something which you have in the past been punished for).

If someone's posting pictures of you, you can contact a mod and they'll remove it ASAP. Just because you've had situations where people have used your picture without permission doesn't mean you can do the same to other people.

Exactly. It all depends on the context that the photo is reproduced in. Jason, I'm sorry I didn't catch where someone posted your picture without your permission. Next time it happens, feel free to PM me personally, no one should be favored over another. Also, if you don't want it to happen to you, don't do it to others. Golden rule ya'll.

People, including mods, enjoy bashing you or watching you get bashed. You're an easy target. They think that everything you do is automatically wrong so they don't really care about your feelings.

^ I don't think it's a question of anyone assuming that anyone is automatically wrong all of the time, that would just be ridiculous.

Obviously, if people have different ways of looking at things, then they wil tend to agree more or less regularly with the same general people, but that's pretty much all it amounts to.

If an idea is good, it wil most probably win support, if not, it won't. That's the general rule.

Well, then colour me ignorant, because I disagree. Well, actually, no, I don't disagree per se, but I think a better way of looking at it is that there are a lot of people who view Jason's posts with trepidation before they read them, which I think is inevitable given the past, and so on and so forth.

However, I think their actual overall reaction does depend on the post. His (and all threads, for that matter) are only actually closed if they ARE 'wrong' in the sense of being offensive, or what have you. People don't always come out of the thread with the same thoughts they had when they initially clicked it.

Maybe you don't automatically judge him before hearing what he's got to say but there are people who do. And yes, it is ridiculous. No matter what he says or how he says it, they don't want to hear it. Why? Because it's Jason.

I don't dispute that there are people who judge Jason and others before they read their posts. I just say that, at least from the perspective of the staff, as long as the post is kosher, then those preconceptions fade.

Oh, and there will always be stupid people, there is nothing we can do about that, so there isn't really that much point in addressing it. Not thinking it is something to be especially concerned about isn't the same as not seeing it.

Not every staffer is like you (whatever you are). You don't know what they're automatically thinking. I'm positive that some of the staff members enjoy bashing him, whether he's wrong or right. It's a fact.

Well, if I can't know what they're thinking (which, admittedly, is true) then there is no reason to assume that you can either, so I would hesitate to say that 'It's a fact'.

But, if you do have concerns about a specific staff member and this issue, then I suggest you take it to Mod Performance, or to a PM, becuase that kind of thing can only really be resolved one-on-one.

And I just meant I don't see any point in addressing it in a Feedback thread, because it isn't something that needs to be fixed by the community as a whole. If there are individual porblems, by all means address them, but just do it in the appropriate venue.

I'll say that you have legitimate concerns, Sandra (as does Jason). However, if you don't point out who these biased staff members are then it's not of much use. You seem to see what others are not seeing and I think that would certainly help.

Personally, I'll take the time to read Jason's posts considering the general content of them but I've PMed with him many times so I have nothing against him and certainly don't think he is automatically wrong and don't care for his thoughts.

My point: there are people INCLUDING staff members who don't take the time to understand Jason or his topics or whatever Jason does. They basically judge him based on his past.

This topic is a huge example. People post Jason's pictures everywhere, 'for laughs' but when Jason did the same, there was immediate action.

^I completely agree... I for one can not honestly take him seriously. Every time I take him seriously it turns out to be a joke, and every time I don't take him seriously he become upset because he's serious. I honestly can't tell the difference, and due to my past experiences with his posts I honestly cant' help but feel as if there is something stupid in every-single-one of his posts.

You guys should read my racism essay. You would understand what she's trying to say. It's the same concept. Many members have had enough bad experiences with Jason for it to become hard for them not to judge him. It's not that their ignorant. It's just the way our brain works. It's as if your brain sees something that occurs over and over and over so instead of reviewing the entire post before it makes a judgment. Eventually it prejudges the post based upon the individual posting as a shortcut. If our brains didn't make shortcuts like this one, you would go through life analyzing each and every situation even if it were to repeat itself.
