I have this weird daydream every now and then in which my house catches on fire and I have just thirty seconds to grab my precious belongings and go, go, go. And really, it scares the hell out of me. I'd be sitting there, daydreaming, and my heart would be racing because I cannot think of what I'd bring, because I know that if it really were to happen, I probably won't be thinking, just reacting.

So in my head, I sort of have a plan (Can anyone say influenced-by-Worst-Case-Scenario-books?), I'd make sure my family will be safe, then I would grab my biiig red Hello Kitty blanket and a huge bag of my collection of stuffed animals who's most recent addition was just a couple of years ago.

The iPod, the schoolthings, the cell phone, etc. - all replacable. But in my head, I'm just scared they will be the first things I reach for because sometimes, sadly, they're the things I value most.

I would make sure my family is safe, and kick the dog out of the house

I would probably end up grabbing my book bag, my ipod, cellphone, wallet and CLASSIFIED OBJECT

Things I would want to take but wouldnt have enough time:
My Wii
My laptop
a blanket

What do you wish you could take but didnt have enough time?

Haha...I do that too! But mine's more like: "What if I'm going to be sent to a deserted island and I can only bring 5 things?"
Mine would be...food, a tent, a knife, clothes, medicine

If there's a fire, family would come first of course. Then it would be my cellphone, iPod, a shirt or two, and money.

Kaycee, why on earth would you go for school things? Let the notes burn, it's a great excuse not to do your homework...

And I don't really know what I would grab.. my cell an diPod are generally in my pocket at all times anyway, so that's kind of already taken care of... I dunno. I'll cross that (burning) bridge when I come to it.

Hmm.. this is a hard question.
Well first I would make sure my family is safe, including my dogs. Then, I would try to get my favorite stuffed animals, my cds, my money, old pictures, and I would try to save my computer just because it has all of my photos and stuff on it that I cherish. My ipod and cell phone are always in my pocket, so that doesn't matter.

yea, ive thought about that, too.

i definitely wouldnt leave my dog. even if the fire was upstaris, and he was upstairs but i was downstairs. i'd risk my life for him. i know it sounds so stupid and cheesy, but when my mom died, i kinda realized that the only other thing i loved as much as her was my dog (i got my dog 2 months before she died. he was about 4 months, then.).

hmm, then after i got him, i dont know what i'd save. maybe my clothes? haha, that sounds pretty dumb, too. i guess after i got my dog, i'd leave.

yea, i often day dream about getting kidnapped in my sleep. like, right before i fall asleep. and what would happen if someone just broke into the house and tried to kill me, because my dad doesnt get home till late since he's working.
it's kidna scary.

Kaycee, i think the teachers would understand if your house went on fire. You could still show it for proof too.

I would take my iPod, cell phone, the stuffed animal nearest me, and my laptop, if I could carry that in time.

I'd take my photographs, journals, and folder of letters with me. They have a lot of sentimental value to me and as you said, electronics are replaceable.

I've always thought about this. I've always had a storage bin that has stuff in it and I could just dumb stuff in it and then throw it out my window laugh.gif Our house is just one story and I can easily bust out the screen on my window and get out of the house if there were a fire.

I always have my cell phone on me so that wouldn't be a real problem. I would grab my panda and toytle which were given to me by Josh and all my other stuffed animals. At least as many I could dumb in the thing. Then probably my laptop. That's all I could probably manage to get.

I' ve thought the same thing a few times before. I'd get my family and my hamster and laptop first. If possible the ipod and cell phone.

laugh.gif Yeah, I'm pretty sure they'd understand. :P Maybe not my math teacher, though, I'm sure she'd be like "Well, you could've gone to a friend's house..." whistling.gif

I'd grab as many clothes as possible.... my clothes are my most valuable possession(s)
And I'd probably grab my iPod too.
and maybe my phone...but I can get another one in a snap coz i gotz ~connections~

I actually did have to evacuate my house once because there was a brush fire nearby, and that's basically what I grabbed. Well I didn't have an iPod yet, but I packed up a ton of clothes and music.

i'm just hopeless.
i'm going to be one of those people who like stuffs things into bags when i get older so i can run with them during a fire. =x

My purse (with basically everything I need in it), as many clothes and purses as I can grab, and my glasses. :C I hope this never has to happen, though.

iPod's usually always in my pocket, the camera and turntable are usually in close proximity, and there's always windows, if not a door.

Pretty much all the money I ever spent is in the camera and turntable. =P

Lol Archie how the hell are you supposed to get your turntable out your house in 30 seconds
It's a really portable kind (for situations like this), so I'm sure I can do it. I can just run out with the turntable in one hand and the camera in the other. laugh.gif

^That I would like to see.
I DO THAT ALL THE TIME! Usually it's something like, what if someone broke into my house and I was the only one awake. But yeah, I know if there was a fire in my house I'd most likely go down with the house because I'd be listening to music and completely unaware.

What a nasty daydream! All mine involve..ah, yeah.

Hmm, after the family (naturally) I'd rescue my fish and gerbils (that'll be an effort) my claddagh ring and giant stuffed Nemo. All you need to live, huh? :p
