I think it would be nice to have a seperate category for myspace div layouts and plain ones, instead of having them all mixed together.

Plus, I think it would encourage people to make more div's.

Good? Bad? thumbsup.gif

Interesting.. I hadn't really thought about that. I'm okay with the way things are, but perhaps other people feel differently..

Maybe we can just have div layouts submitted have the tag "div" . So anyone looking for a div layout can simply search the word "div" then all the div layouts appear?

I think thats better than making a whole new category. I find it fine the way it is too. But maybe?

^ Meh. I tried to add to all of the DIV layouts I could find with "div overlay" and "overlay," but it sometimes wouldn't go through. Kind of a pain.
I'd agree with a category, too.

Well, if we made a whole new catagory they would still go to the regular place and us staff would have to move them....

Anyways, I think its better to put a "overlay" tag or something on it, or maybe put "[div]" in the title of it?

You can only have tags which have more than 3 characters, so "div" won't work as a tag.

Overlay would work. A new category would be cool too.

Its a good idea and all but its more work for the staff members for us to have to do this, thats why there tags on the layouts so you can put Div or overlay for people to search and find them.

Its a nice idea though. Theres just easier ways to go about it.

Not only that, but what you've suggested (a new category in the skins catalogue) is not feasible without Ju-Sun, who's been missing in action, since it is a fundamental change. sad.gif

jusun lee reporting and ready for action. =)

thanks for the suggestion. its not only for myspace but also for xanga; default layout scheme vs something completely different. i think its important to have a distinction as people look for one or the other, not both. so in the next update ill probably add something to make that possible. probably not by adding another category, as they are for layout themes, not schemes. need to come up with something clever and intuitive, but havent yet. mind helping?

I always thought that (considering the site design) that if there was a way to use the drop down menu feature to display only divs, kind of like how you can select Xanga/Myspace/etc., would be neat.

^ Yeah, that would be a good idea. Almost like another category in the drop down menu that's already there for myspace layouts.

Maybe like this? Ahhh I have too much free time on my hands. laugh.gif

That's exactly what I thought! It so frustrating [to me] to try to find a simple layout. Sometimes I get tired of div and just want a plain one. You know?

Well, then there's the problem of DIV layouts fitting into those categories(Abstract, Emotions, etc.) ermm.gif

Well, then after someone's originally clicked on the myspace layouts section, there could only be two options - Regular and Div layouts. Then users would be given the option to choose which one, and then it would take them to another page, where they can choose a specific category (abstract, nature, ect.)

If layouts were to be categorized into layout 'styles' rather than themes, it would be difficult to search for a layout with a specific subject. In that case, we'd have to be stricter on tagging submissions, and it's already not always done properly. ermm.gif

Oh, please don't think I'm saying no. I'm sure it'll be considered for CB4 if there's a way to make this work because it's not a bad idea at all. _smile.gif

Most of the layouts accepted/submitted these days are divs so I can see how many would want thing. The default and minimal ones are located at the beginning of the list.

aww you beat me to it. here's what i have so far. let me know if you (addressed to everyone) think theres a better way of organizing things (schematic).

MYSPACE
-standard
-div overlay
-blog

LIVEJOURNAL
-s1
-s2

XANGA
-basic (no additional editing required, claf is intact)
-advance (additional editing required, customized claf)

BLOGGER / WEBSITE / WORDPRESS / MOVABLETYPE
-one column
-two columns
-three+ columns

ps. im looking to wordpress and mt and seriously considering whether or not to include them on the next release. your (again, to everyone) input is much appreciated.

um... scripts? well most of the ones posted need to be cleaned out... or updated cuz most of them don't work...
but for myspace
Hidden Sections < scripts that hides various myspace sections/features
Custom Features < ex: contact table codes, banner over ad, etc
Move < ex: move about me up, move myspace flash player, etc...
^ they can be changed... but its just a idea not sure about xanga scripts...

for the DIV layouts... yeah having them tagged Overlay and the title saying DIV works out... or a new section where members move the layouts them selves... but then what happens to the people who posted layouts but stop going to CB....
if yah do a blog section for myspace tutorials on how to make a blog layout will be needed... does anyone know how to make a myspace blog layout?

[b]Website layouts[b]
how about Table and DIV sections?

If we're going to have a blog layout section, then how about layouts for myspace pictures?
