So both IRL and on cB, I've noticed a lot of pushes for objectvity, which is perfectly fine for me. Personally, I believe I'm pretty able to look at things objectively, but that doesn't mean I'm flawless; I can recount a couple of stand-out moments where I definitely let my emotions get the best of me. But at the same time, isn't it okay sometimes to release that objectivity and let your emotions get "in the way"? Doesn't that make us more human? Emotions can make us care more, and by caring more, sometimes that's when real, working results happen. The best example is with relationships, that very corny "Follow your heart." saying is a real mantra that millions use. Of course, though, objectivity is big plus in several situations; nobody likes the overly emotionally attached. So, how able are you to be objective? What situations have you let your emotions guide you to the right way? |

Yeah, the emotions do make us that much more "human," but of course, humans can be quite fallible.
I can see how emotions are capable of helping out in a situation though. For example, there was the American Revolution. A rather significant advantage that the Americans had was that they felt that they had something to fight for. I'm probably more of an objective person rather than emotional. But that's probably just because I try not to get too attached to anything. |

You can't keep running from what you're trying to find. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Group: Official Member Posts: 5,030 Joined: Oct 2004 Member No: 54,096 |
I agree that being more emotional is more human and "natural", but lots of people always take their emotions the wrong way and make the wrong decisions because of them. And it can distract you, and make you lose sight of what's most important, and that's where objectivity comes in.
I'm usually most objective with school work. I'll do my work, and just as well, no matter how angry or whatnot I am. It's just something I have to do. |

I think I'm objective for most of the time, unless someone/something offends me horribly. Then I get really pissed and blow up.

Im emotional,
It is hard to be a "robot" and not feel when everything we do makes us feel something happy, sad, confused, stupid, angry. It does not matter what you do you will have some emotional response. It is okay to be emotional as long as you dont let emotions guide you completely There has to be some balance between reason and emotion emotional wreck=bad uncapable of feeling=bad balance=good |
