This is just an idea. I know a lot of cbers here have DeviantArts and I think there is a good handful of CBers who subscribe to DA. I was wondering what everyone thought about providing journal templates and layouts for DeviantArt? There is a big need for them.
Thoughts please. |

I think this'd be nice to furthur boost the designing part of cB, and it'd definitely bring some creative traffic to cB. However, I didn't even know there were even layouts for DeviantArt, but I'm never really on that site, anyway.
If I were to see more examples of layouts and journal templates, then I think I'd have a much more educated opinion. And also, is there a known script for DeviantArt codes? Or is there near-complete freedom like with DIVs for MySpace and Xanga? |

I would like to see some examples please Linda? I've been on DA for a while and all I've ever seen was the original looking layouts..
I think it would be neat anyway. I don't know how it would be a huge need for them. But since we do use DA for the graphics resource to load all the things we provide in there, I think it would be nice to support DA more and have layouts too |

Being able to change your journal's layout is a subscriber feature. However, subscribing is usually what most serious arists do. Here are some examples:
My journal Journal templates: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41800674/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40648016/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/49402213/ http://search.deviantart.com/?section=brow...ournal+template It's just basic CSS. |

Pretty neat I have to admit. I don't have any objection against this.

I was wondering what everyone thought about providing journal templates and layouts for DeviantArt? There is a big need for them. I don't think that many cB-ers are subscribed to dA. But it is a good idea, could generate traffic, but it all depends on how many people here are subscribed to dA to submit layouts to generate said potential traffic increase.Thoughts please. I think this'd be nice to furthur boost the designing part of cB, and it'd definitely bring some creative traffic to cB. Or is there near-complete freedom like with DIVs for MySpace and Xanga? My journal: http://shesfresh.deviantart.com/journal/ (default). Other customized journals: http://kedralynn.deviantart.com/journal/ http://kuroitora.deviantart.com/journal/ http://okti.deviantart.com/journal/ http://st3to.deviantart.com/journal/ http://acidlullaby.deviantart.com/journal/ http://toonekked.deviantart.com/journal/ http://ksenkat.deviantart.com/journal/ http://aegis-strife.deviantart.com/journal/ Some are more elaborate than others and I'm sure there are better ones out there, but it gives you a good idea of what can be accomplished. |

My journal Those look terrific! I like the range of complication and styles, and if having them would direct traffic, that'd be a wonderful change.Journal templates: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41800674/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40648016/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/49402213/ http://search.deviantart.com/?section=brow...ournal+template It's just basic CSS. However, as Carrie stated, how many regular cB members do we have that are also dA members? Would we have enough entries to merit a whole section? I suspect that the answer to the second might be a "no", but at the same time, we would want people to come to cB to possibly contribute their journal designs, we don't just have to use the current members (like LB). |
