Sorry for mentioning deviantART everywhere (sweating.gif) but I admire so many artists that each specializes in different things--digital painting, vectors, photomanipulation, photography, jewelry, etc. It amazes me and I'm very interested in at least attempting to do each form of art. But it's so difficult and the more you practice in one form, the better you get as you learn more methods and refine your techniques. I doubt I could ever become half as talented as those I've already seen since many of them have been practicing for years and years. So I'm a varied artist.

What's your story? :)

I've always wanted to try each thing at least once. If I don't like it then I'll move on to someone new. If I do like it then I'll stay with it and practice on it as much as I possibly can. I love talking to different artists about what they do and perhaps even hear some of their own techniques, its always really neat to do that.

I suppose I'm a varied artist, but also not so much.

I had to do something else, so back and editing.

Oh my, I remember when I first got photoshop and didn't know where to start. I think I first started out making blends. They were really simple and really basic in my opinion. Then I ventured out to vectoring. Took forever and I'm extremely meticulous so It took me longer than normal. Next I think I did photography on my own, it didn't exactly last long because I want a better camera but I love photography. Then I think I went back to the computer and started doing photo manipulations. I think next I really want to start doing some colorizations, I never got in to that. Maybe even go for the abstract theme.

I've tried vectoring. It's very fun but I haven't had much spare time to get better at it. I'm taking Digital Illustration next quarter, it is a class all about making vectors and the like and I'm so excited about it.

Photography is the newest hobby of mine. I'm in DVC (Digital Visual Composition) this quarter and taking this class has awakened this passion for photography I never knew I had. I recently purchased a Olympus e500 with 14-45mm and 50mm lens. There is a huge learning curve involved in learning all the aspects of photography but I am having so much fun at. I browse DA alot mainly for the great photographers they have on the site.

I would like to learn photomanipulation. Never had a chance to try it but I will when I get into my Image Manipulation class, looks like it's going to be so much fun.

One day, I'm going to try to vector. It seems so difficult, but I really want to do this. I've also wanted to try to learn a way of making more "professional" layouts as if they were for a real business website.

I hate Deviantart. I've only found one person there that isn't a dick.

Well, Mona Lisa. I've got two things to say to you....

First, you're never going to get better with an attitude like that... :)
and secondly, How are we going to get better if we don't try new things?

Peace, like the new lounge area. The old one's starting to smell.

You are seriously like my clone. Except for the vector part I'm still trying. ermm.gif I always wish I was able to draw.

I also want to try many other techniques, that I can't really describe. Pretty much I go on a deviantart spree and look at alo tof others artists work and go " I wish I could do that *sigh*".

The ability to vector is like that damn box of chocolate that I've given up for Lent; impossible to achieve. I have tried, really really tried. And I praise and am jealous of any and all people who can vector at all, because maybe, maybe I will be sort of like you in like two decades.

Some people are very... well, let's just say they look down on others and it's a turn-off.

Haha, I just don't think I'll be able to devote that much time to each art form . If I want to learn something new, I want to do it well and that isn't easy if you're just starting out. By trying new things, I mean trying different types of art. I try to learn new things about a specific one or a certain tool.

Practice! Aww, I'm sure it won't take you two decades to learn.

I've always wanted to try vectoring. Although, with PSP 7, I haven't managed to get very far. sad.gif And plus, I don't have too much patience and creativity to know what color to shade what.

Ah don't blur. Other than that it's pretty nice!

I'd love to be good at realistic pencil sketching and digital painting. I've tried both, but I got mad. I've tried vexel/vectoring, oils, collages, illustration (both photoshop and outside), photography and various others.

I would like to try line art, but I have no idea how to start.
I tried vectoring and collages, but they are just too ugly to show them to people.
I think my photomanipulations are okay, but I wish I could make them look professional like the geniuses at DA.

Me too! cry.gif

I REALLY wish i could vector. But like, I can't even figure out the pen tool in psp! I've tried and it just hasnt worked out at all. sad.gif I also want to make my own brushes and textures from scratch. But without knowing how to use the pen tool, this is not likely to happen. cry.gif

I've tried collaging, photomanipping, and colorizing like once. I mostly make fanart which is.. kinda collagey.. maybe.

Once i get my digital camera that i was supposed to get 6 months ago, ima try photography for fun.

I want to actually finish a vexel. I usually get a good halfway through, get frustrated with the hair, and then give up.

I like "blending" (more like collaging and then using masking layers) photos of my friends and I. tongue.gif Hah.
