Those pesky teenage lovebirds

Well today the newest copy of the school paper came up and one of the top stories ended up being about teenage relationships through school and how troublesome they are to some people. How annoyed others get by it and then it asked for others opinions.

I personally, found it somewhat alright. The writer wasn't very good at sticking to topic and she jumped from one idea to another. But the main idea of the story was have you seen those really annoying teenage lovebirds making out in the hall way, and no matter what they can't let go of each other. When you need to get your book from your locker and you say the awkward "uhm excuse me" when their daydreaming in each others eyes.

I never found it to be a problem. But apparently it happens to a lot of people; running in to a couple making out in the hallways. Stopping in front of the classroom door to say their final good-byes and blocking everyone else's way to get in. Also they block the hall way apparently by holding hands and taking more of the hall space then necessary. A lot of people complained.

So anyway, do you guys have these types of people in your school? Or do you see them anywhere in public that cause such a problem like they had to go about explaining in the school paper?

I still have yet to see it, although I got stuck in a lot of freshman classes this year and their scared to do anything for some odd reason.. mellow.gif

I remmber posting a topic like this on blogring back a couple of years ago.LOL
I do get turned off when i see little kids [middle schoolers] and high schoolers making out all over the damn place.
not only that but they walk really f**king slow and they do take up alot of space in the hallway.
Now that im in college its alot less common and when i do see it i learn how to bear with it and realize that hey they are in love and let the do what they want while its lasts.

Oooh this reminds me of a story involving my Aunt. So my cousin's an 8th grader and it was his birthday so they had a pool party (he lives in Hawaii, so that's pretty easy get at the local rec center) and he invited all of his friends. Now I don't know why, but all of these kids have girlfriends and boyfriends. My aunt (his aunt, too) was in charge at the party of making sure all the kids are okay, and when she saw my cousin's friends all up on each other hugging and kissing she went berserker. She ended up seperating the boys and the girls on seperate sides of the pool.

My take on it was that she was being rather....rude. I mean, I don't think they should've been so close to each other, I mean, they're twelve for goodness sake, but it wasn't really her place to do anything. She could've told them to seperate, definitely, but putting them on opposite sides of the pool. She's not the their mother, I don't believe she should have that much leverage over them.

Sooo, getting to the actual point of the topic. tongue.gif The couples making out and such are usually somewhere hidden in the halls or behind buildings and such, and usually before classes they at least stay out of the way so people can get to class, so there's no problem with couples at my school.

We have people like that all over my school. Mostly, it's the stupid Freshmen and Sophmores. The perks of being a Senior is that you can throw water on them with your water bottles and the teachers will look the other direction.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me when they hold hands, hug, stand around holding each other, kissing each other goodbye, but when they make out it's kind of gross... esspecially if they're ugly... j/k.

^Haha, Maggie. I'm kind of with you if I got stuck in the situation. I'm not a really big person on PDA. Its just not my thing.

It's fine with me if they hug, hold hands, and kiss before going to class or something, but making out is something else that should be done in more private places.

But actually, there aren't that many of those kinds of PDA-ing couples at my school. Most just lean on each other if they're hanging out in the hallway and hold hands when they walk. They don't make out in front of others, thank goodness.

PDA is tasteless.unless its the cute kind like holding hands and a hug. but when its like my tounge in your mouth action. cant you wait till after school.

Its like the people when i went to high school had SEX in the bathroom.Trying to take a piss and hearing moaning along with the fear that the f**king bathroom walls might bust down is really sad. plus i mean what drives you to the point that you MUST have sex NOW in a dirty public bathroom?

Haha it happens all the time. Especially when they stand in the middle of the hallway holding on to each other and what not. I don't mind but it gets crowded after a while.

^To Diana's post Yea, we've had countless sex acts in bathrooms throughout the first semester. Then we started having teachers go in the bathrooms and scream SEX AND SMOKE CHECK!! It never really happened until this gay couple got caught though. mellow.gif

And they slam on the doors and ask if your having sex or smoking laugh.gif

I remember when I was in middle school I encountered a couple having sex in the girls bathroom and I just took a whole bunch of paper towels and got them soaked and chunked them in the stall and went back to class. I found it amusing, and a bit gross to have to hear that stuff in Middle School.

These kids had sex on a teacher's table. Maybe it's one of those " things to do before I'm 21" or something but still not cool.

At my school, we're able to avoid the whole couple-kissing-and-blocking-the-lockers ordeal 'cause we're not even allowed to use the lockers. Stupid. mellow.gif Anyway, my boyfriend and I have the occasional makeout session in the hallway, but it doesn't bother anyone else. And it's not like we're groping each other and dry humping or anything. crazy.gif When we do makeout in the hallway, we're just against the wall so we're not in the way. Same thing goes for before classes.

I haven't heard of or seen any problems with other couples either. ermm.gif

And as for the sex acts, it's never happened at my school. Considering my high school has only been open for about five years, it would be considered one of the few "goodie-two-shoes" in the district.

Ergh, yes. Not at my school, but I do see it in public places (the mall, target, walmart, parks, etc).
It is pretty annoying if they are like all over each other, But I haven't seen it happen too recently.

I'd pound my fist loudly against the lockers right beside them to give 'em a bit of a scare. shifty.gif
Then politely say, "Excuse me, but you're blocking my locker", and smile sweetly. _smile.gif I'm sure they'd move somewhere else, if not, further away.

Before when I was in public school, it wasn't a problem. People didn't go that far in their 3 day relationship although there are others that do that in the same amount of time.

I don't need to deal with that problem (if I had a problem with that to begin with) anymore since I have online schooling.

Hmm... How do they abbreviate After School Suspension?

lol just kidding. Sorry for the bit of immaturity! laugh.gif

Anyways, I never really have this problem. And with girls I date, we always get out of the way. I never make out either. That's pretty stupid. We just hold hands and peck before we go off.

I just can't stand it when people stand there and talk RIGHT in the MIDDLE of the hallway. That gets me pissed. This one guy stood there, looked at me after I said excuse me, and then looked back at his friend and kept talking. I grabbed his backpack and shoved him out of the way. Of course, I got the "YO MUTHA F***IN WHITEY! GET YO ASS BACK HERE!" lol I just ignored.

Yeah, a little off topic, but it relates somewhat. wink.gif
