I've always had this interest in the News and in Politics for so long. Looking at my earlier influences, I'm surprised that I turned out that way, because there weren't very many people at all around me who were even vaguely interested in it.

Growing up, there was a general apathy when it came to it. Sure, my mom voted and I came with her, but she voted for whichever Democrat was running.

Now, in high school (and I felt in middle school, too) there are plenty of teachers and fellow students who are just as opinionated in the dealings of the world as I am (but then again, I'm not the most informed person in the world); in fact, some even more so. But there are still the people who really just could not care less. They think that it is much too complicated, much too dirty, and much too stressful to even bother to try comprehending. And honestly, I can't blame them.

Do you care about politics?

Well, my parents tell me about the politics in HK, but that's about it. I'm not typicallly interesting in it.

I guess I'm one of those people then. For some reason, I have no interest in politics (unless they find a way to end world hunger and war) I don't know whether I'm a republican or democrat and quite frankly...I don't really care. mellow.gif Politics just isn't my thing.

Well not really, I'll hear about it from someone or parents then I'll read up on it to see what it's really about.

As long as I can continue to drink, buy food, and have a home to go to. I don't really care. Doesn't mean I don't have a clue about what's going on and don't have my own opinions. I just choose to not say anything when it comes to politics and keep my mouth shut, I may like to stir up trouble but politics in my view are incredibly boring.

I am not interested in Politics as I am interested in why things happen. The former is a way I have to know why the world is shaped as it is, why do things happen one way or another and why political groups have different, and sometimes totally opposed views of reality.

I consider each political ideology as a way to understand and to direct the human process along a certain path. So in a way, political ideologies are projections of previous philosophical currents (save the case of instrumentalism). For example, Plato's vision of the state and its practical exegesis brought to us by Stalin; or else Locke's influence over big part of the contemporary liberal parties.

You could say I like politics in general as they are the way different ethical and moral philosophies interact with each other, with the most diverse effects over people's lives.

I was raised to follow politics, the news, and stocks.
Politics is something that I'm really interested in because I have to translate the speeches and debates for my parents and help them decide who to vote for. They always told me that voting is a way to make a difference in this world, and it's true. I can't wait until I'm able to vote on my own. happy.gif

I'm pretty into politics, even though I hate them. It's so corrupt and stupid.

Regardless, I still stay informed.

Kaycee I'm in the same boat you are. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to a lot of stuff that comes with politics. I've just never cared to know stuff about politics or participate in them. Maybe when I'm old enough to vote I'll take the time to know a little bit more than now but I just can't ever imagine being on top of all that stuff..

I don't really care much, I mean... I try to keep up and all that. But I'm not old enough to vote yet, so that's why I don't care much. Once I am old enough, I will probably start caring more. laugh.gif

Well, I'm not but I'd like to. I remember a while back when I didn't really care much, but my dad kind of got me wanting to care more. I really don't have time to keep up with this, but I do try when I get the chance to. I try to read articles online and such.

Politics is (are?) interesting but what turns me off is that I don't understand why certain things happen, how past events have led to this current event, and such. I guess keeping up with history is a part of it and I'm afraid after moving to Canada, I haven't been keeping up as history isn't a requirement each year. So I tend to stay away from it.

Honestly? Yes, it interests me. Am I educated enough to form my own opinion and not feel like an ignorant idiot? No. I plan to take PolySci, though--there is SO much to be exposed to and I want to know so, so, so bad. But, then again, I want to take sociology and anthropology and theology and.. well, a lot. So.

Yes, I care about politics. I like to know what's going on in the world, who's running against whom, and what each party is trying to accomplish.

Ugggggggh, politics are so boring to me. It's horrible that I think that, but I just don't care too much on the subject... even though that's how the world runs ermm.gif
I'm in government in school, and I take a nap everyday. I try to stay awake, but I can't. I feel bad, but I can't help it... I'm not the least bit interested.

I try to stay on top of things. So I guess I am interested in politics.

But if you follow things too closely, it becomes depressing. mellow.gif
