For some reason, when people ask me to describe myself, it's incredibly awkward.. I feel conceited. It's strange.

When people ask you to describe yourself?
Word, I don't know what to say either. I just mess around and say i'm a guy with hair. Honestly, what are you supposed to say? Being yourself you could easily just point out all your good points and ignore the bad, then when that person gets to know you... they'll get on you about frontin and all that.

I think that we should make you describe yourself right now.

Same here, and I always have to think about what to say w/o sounding conceited.

Andie, I know exactly what your talking about. I can't really stand conceited people, so I almost feel like a bad guy because I think I sound conceited.. everyone tells me that I really don't but I don't know. -shrugs-

Also a lot of times my mind goes completely blank too.

Mm, like everyone else here, I never know what to say about myself. I tend to get kind of flustered and end up describing more of the things I like than my personality traits. I figure that since one's personality is always subject to change, if I act differently than how I describe myself to someone they'll think I'm a liar or something. >_<

I don't think awkward is exactly the right word to describe it...

It's just that there's so much to a person that you can't really summarize in a short description. ermm.gif

It really depends if I feel um, inspired enough. Like there are times when I could go on and on and on and about anything, even if it was about myself, but I've been asked to describe myself and all I can say is that I'm a 16 year old girl. shrug.gif

I know exactly what you mean, I hate having to talk about myself, especially on the spot pinch.gif I feel wierd when I have to do that, and it happens all the time when you start a new class in college (least at my school) I'm like uh.. i'm nicole. i'm a freshman...uh and I'm majoring in communications. shrug.gif

D: Yeahhh. Exactly.

Even describing myself on facebook/myspace descriptions was hard. And after finally writing a paragraph or so, I end up taking it out.

It's not really weird for me if someone asks me, because obviously their interesting in something about me, so I don't feel conceited. I think it's awkward when someone's like "Describe yourself" rather than just asking a not so vague question. I'm like "Describe myself, well what the hell do you want to know?" haha.

If I were to really describe myself and my different personalities, people would be confused.

So I try to stay away from that.

If someone asks exactly that it is, but if it's specific questions not really.

Wow that didn't make any sense

i don't like to describe myself physically, unless its like hair color or eye color, something generic like that.

but if a person asks me to fill out an about me section, usually i just put in the stuff i think really defines me, which are my sports/hobbies, my religion and some general likes and dislikes.

Me too! My all-purpose response is to say "I'm sexy!" in a half-joking manner. That way I don't feel TOO conceited, because I'm -half- joking. rolleyes.gif

i can talk for HOURS about anything but myself.

somebody: describe you
me: um... some people say im weird.
somebody: what do you think?
me: i'm hungry...
