Yeah I agree, rep is far more important than money.

If I was an actor or somethin, I would mos def turn down the role for brokeback mountain no matter how much they put on the table.

i dont think they got paid a lot for them to make that movie, its more of the REP on brokeback mountain, its one of those really good movies that wins awards, i think thats why jake and heath chose that movie.

for example monster's ball when hallie berry had to have a sex scene with billy bob thorton, that movie won some awards but i dont think they gave them extra money just to do the sex scene.

those movies were good thats why they did those scenes.

Some people do things because at the end of the day they're happy. The actors in Brokeback Mountian portrayed a character, just like in every movie they'll ever work on.

Anyway, money > reputation. You can always buy a new reputation.

buy a new reputation? possibly but why would u want to ruin your life like that. Hmm we always joke around in my circle of friends like (lol its mostly something gay) kiss so and so and we will give you money. Even tho the money might be alot i wouldnt be able to live with a tarnished rep then everyone will know that you kissed so and so, money cant/wont get rid of peoples thoghts

If you were an actor/actress, you need your reputation to be good to keep getting money. Otherwise, no one would want you to act in their movies.

It depends on how much money and what you would lose your reputation doing.

Depends how much money you would get in exchange for your reputation. You'd have to get paid enough to buy a new reputation.

I think it is. Money is just an object and can easily be lost. (As can reputation) But it is true, that money cannot buy everything--including a new reputation. Well...in some cases, if you have a lot of money.

As the others stated, your reputation is something that sticks with your throughout your life.

It's ironic because sometimes, money can give a person his or her reputation. But in general, reputation is more important than money, of course.

Well, if you had ENOUGH money, you could buy off the press and keep them off your back. rolleyes.gif

but the question is , is it worth MORE than money. I mean look at all the celeberties that have lots of money but horrible reputations. If bill gates abused his kids or something if he had any(does he?) then he would be all over the internet, but hes not thats why noone cares if hes the richest person cuz his rep is squeaky clean. Also look at kobe he still has alot of money but since recently his rep has been horrible he still had money but wherever he went he was harrased and stuff.

No. Reputation is priceless. Money comes and goes.

But, I guess it depends on what reputation you're talking about. School-wise, I could care less. But with other things, it matters more to me.

I've never cared about money, so that's never been an issue. I did, however, go through a phase where I was overly concerned about my reputation. Now I've come to the conclusion that both are very trivial things and neither one should be any more or less important - sure we all worry about what other people think of us, but is it really important? In the long run, if you're happy, I don't think it is. I need enough money to get me through life equally as much as I need people to like me enough that they don't make my life miserable. After that, it doesn't really matter.

Psh

Depending on who you are, reputation might be able to get you some things for free. For the masses though, you need money to buy food, unless you live in the jungle and are/is a professional hunter.

I really don't care about my reputation among others other then my close friends. To do some things you want, to get around, you need money in this industrial world. That's a fact, reputation can't get you everywhere.
