I see them ALL THE TIME.

Regarding the whole "4 year old girls wearing Abercrombie" - What you must understand that there is a Abercrombie Kids line. I mean, my sister used to work there, and I wear jeans there, since they are the only jeans that fit me exactly.

I mean I do own 7 for all mankind jeans and other expensive ones, but I have to tailor the length on all of them.

Anyways, most likely the extra smalls or something that Abercrombie (Kids) fit those "4" year olds.. Who knows? Plus, I think she was just exaggerating on the 4 year old thing. The girl was probably most like at least 6 years old. I mean come on. I look like I'm 14 years old and I'm about to turn 19 soon. wink.gif

I mean, I myself do own some hollister clothes and A&F label ones, but truthfully, I can get the SAME exact thing, at other places, for cheaper prices, without the name brands, though. That's why the clothes can be considered "garbage". Honestly, the quality isn't all that great compared to others.

At least I can guarantee that 10 years from now, I'll still be WEARING clothes from the stores that I shop at (BR, Express, etc.). I mean, if hypothetically speaking, I still shopped at A&F or Hollister and 10 years later I still shopped there, that would be pretty sad. ^_^;;

Eeek I saw a woman that looked pretty old and she was wearing Hollister. That was kind of strange. And the clothes didn't fit right on her... whistling.gif

Granted, I still think Hollister is of cheap quality, and their clothes are not expensive at all, imo. They're actually priced similar to the clothes at Abercrombie Kids, which is a fraction of the cost of A&F clothes.

But hey, people can wear whatever they want. Like I said, just don't flaunt it in my face, lol. ;]

Obviously, since A&F is actually geared toward adults and older teens, not 4 year old preschoolers. but yeah, they'd look way better off if they'd bought cute little fluffy clothes at Target or Kmart instead of being a 4 year old slut.

I was talking about adults that shop at abercrombie. kids. and Hollister. Not A&F.

Last time I went to Hollister, I was just trying to get through past a table and this mom was standing there looking at herself in the mirror in this Hollister jacket. And she just kept looking at herself and I was like, "Excuse me." And she didn't even move. And then later, she was at a table and I saw a shirt and wanted to grab it and she pushed me out of the way! She didn't even say anything either mad.gif

^ Wtf. Immature moms these days. rolleyes.gif Honestly, Hollister isn't really expensive, it's MUCH cheaper than A&F. Hollister + A&F = Same company. Actually, there is a store that is Hollister and Abercrombie mixxed together. I forgot what it was called, but it's in our shopping mall in downtown, and trust me, it's even MORE expensive than Abercrombie.

Ruehl 925?

It's like for adults or something.

On the A&F site it talks about all their brands & the ages go:
abercrombie (7-14)
Hollister Co. (14-18)
Abercrombie & Fitch (18-22)
Ruehl 925 (Post college)

Haha, that reminds of someone I know who bought a plain white t-shirt for five dollars. He took a permanent black marker and wrote the words 'Abercrombie & Fitch on the front in his chicken scratch writing. People came up to him and complimented him. Maybe they thought his handwriting made it look like a cool design or something...I don't even know but it further proves the point that it's just about the name.

He is officially my hero.
QUOTE(Jeng @ Jan 9 2007, 2:28 PM) *
You can actually just rip jeans yourself without paying all that money.

My friend did that. It turned out really cool, like she bought it. Except if I did that, it'd look like I'd been lost in the woods for days, because I am artistically challenged. My friend, however, is amazing at anything artistically related. Maybe I'll ask her to style my jeans. shifty.gif

[If you think that wearing Hollister/A&F clothes is slutty]:
Honestly, not ALL Hollister/A&F clothes are "slutty". How is it slutty, really? Just because their clothes are made for people with a skinnier figure doesn't make it slutty clothing.

True, but most of the clothes are slutty and/or racy. They just don't appear slutty, because the people that fit into those sizes generally have a bra size of AA.....A...A, and so it appears less slutty because you don't see any cleavage when in fact, the shirts are usually low-cut.

Ehh, not a lot of adults shop there, maybe college. High schoolers are getting more into it.

^ Actually, alot of Forever21's clothing has very bad quality & is made of 'okay' materials.

Some stores may be cheaper but they're quality isn't as good so you end up buying more because the clothes don't last as long.

That's probably why it costs less, the not as good materials. Now I'd have to disagree with your quality statement, I find it fin. I love Forever 21, because its cheap.

I also like Pac Sun, but they can also be pretty pricey.

I hate A&F, Hollister, and Aeropostal, w/e there names are. First of all, some have bad reputations due to racism, etc. Also a lot of them don't support the larger sized body.

i do agree that they do sell things that are not worth their price.

but they are stores with good reputations because people with money like to spend on things that are not worth their value.

i personally don't like hollister or a&f because

1. too pricey
2. steals can be found in a thirft store
3. everybody else looks like clones of each other

It's annoying how girls ONLY wear those brands, and only wear the clothes that show that it's obviously from there - the shirts with Hollister in big bold letters on the chest or something.

However, I think... with some items, it's worth the extra money. Like their dress shirts are really nice, even though overpriced. the material and cut is higher quality then something from JCpenney or something. But I don't think camis are worth $30, no matter what.

i agree with you. you don`t have to have everything from A&F or Hollister because that would just be... stupid.

i know that i shop at A&F, but i don`t buy everything that i like unless i know it`s worth it.

some people just buy their clothes because "everyone else" does it. grow up.

if i wanted preppy clothing, i`d rather go to Lacoste/J.Crew/Lilly Pulitzer.

someone mentioned about buying Seven Jeans rather than A&F jeans. i COMPLETELY agree with them. they look better, they feel better, they ARE better.

Um, I think people who bash any brand are ignorant. That's completely stupid. Hollister has very good quality jackets, and most of their clothes that I have, I've had for a very long time, and they're just as good. I'm not saying I wear it just because it's the "cool" thing to do; I wear everything that is cute. I shop anywhere & everywhere. From Marshall's to Nordstrom's.

If you think Hollister and A&F are expensive, you don't know shit. Ever heard of D&G, Juicy Couture, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Bebe, etc?

I have to say I completely agree with you there Mish. I don't know...I don't see what the big deal is either way about Hollister or A&F or whatever brand...so what if its popular. But honestly its not that bad quality...theres much worse out there. *shrug*

There are stores out there that only sell for plus size clothing....

Honestly, I think you guys are way over your heads about Abercrombie. Their clothing is actually pretty good quality. I 've bought several tanks at A&F for $15 but the material is SUPER thick (polyester/cotton/spandex) compared to the $5 tanks you can get anywhere else. Plus it's body fitting and doesn't stretch out after a lot of wearings or washings.

I never buy their jeans though...too expensive.

I agree with the jeans, Hollister A&F 'destroys' their jeans, and makes you pay like sixty bucks when you could buy your own for under 20 and rip it yourself...

i dont think you can compare Jcrew & BR with A&F and Hollister with the aspect of being "prep." I see J crew and BR as business attires and A&F and Hollister more casual. I like all of those stores, I guess its a matter of opinion.

haha dang. i went into J crew today and i was like so THIS is where all those hardcore preps get their clothes. J crew is much different from A&F and Hollister, though. And...even more expensive. XD

i have to admit, A&F has good quality clothes, but to be honest, I'd rather shop at Banana Republic. teeheee
