So be honest, what are some words you just learned how to spell recently? whistling.gif

It took me 10 years to realize that the word beginning didn't have 2 gs in the beginning of the word.

I also question whether or not I spell the word: Conquences right.

I know how you feel, I can't think of the words I've had problems with off the top of my head but there are a selected few words that I just figured out how to finally spell correctly.

Awesome, I always spelled it this way but I thought it was spelled awsome.

How do you spell brocolli? Is it like that, or maybe broccoli? huh.gif

Wierd...is supposively the correct spelling of it. Then why does it look better spelt like: weird?

The correct spelling is weird, despite the fact that in most words it's I before E. Weird is just weirdly spelled. :D

I will be the first to admit that when typing anything out - a post on here, an IM convo even, I am very quick to open a new tab and look up a word I'm not sure about before submitting it. Even if the other person has to sit there watching me "type" for two minutes, I still have to look it up.

Right off the top of my head, I can't think of specifics but there is one word that I just realized I'd been spelling wrong within the past year.. I can't remember. X(

Dictionary.com is a quick tab for me. Teehee! But now, I don't have to worry about misspelling on posts and such because of a built in spell checker! Rejoice!

I must admit that I just learned how to spell immediately yesterday.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/weird
Because "wierd" is a misspelling.

Anberlin has a song, Stationary Stationery, so I'd be lying if I said I didn't know.

Necessary has one c, not two, that used to always trip me up. Calendar still gets me sometimes.

Dani taught me there are two Hs in whether, and she also finally settled a long dispute I had with the position of the C in schedule.

Beside that, I try to check any doubts with Dictionary.com and spellcheck.net, although I skip this last step more often than I probably should.

If I'm IMing someone, I always just ask Smarterchild. I have him/her/it under "Convenient Dictionary" on my buddylist. Haha.

I have always spelled restaurant resturant. But I'm starting to break the habit.

For the longest time, I thought the word judgment had an e between g and m.

It depends if you're in the UK or the US when you spell that word. I forget which country it is that you have the "e" in "judgment," but my sixth-grade teacher told me that it's acceptable to spell it both ways. _smile.gif

I've slowly learned to spell advertisement, though I made the mistake again in my last post. I always think that there is no e between the s and the m.
