Sweet Dreams

I am sleeping the sleep of the just man
The tired and weary man who fights alongside his brothers at arms
Without hesitation or reprieve.

Please do believe I am most sincere in my proclamation
"Hail to the Chief, the Healer of the Sick, the Protector of the Helpless
For you carry the burden of guilt and despair for all time
Till the day of reckoning is upon you.

And on this day of rapture, that dawn of judgement
Those who stood tall will stand up and be seated with the highest of all.

But those who fail the task set upon them shall never know
The touch of promise, the glory of fulfillment, only the timidness of cowardice.
Heed these words carefully, and take solace* in their meaning.

Now go, sow the earth of your life, and watch careful as the stalker biding his time
How your labor and hardship bring forth fruits of the divine*."
My understanding is quite clear.

I must warn those who stagger forward blindly into the dark
Never knowing what bright wonders wait behind them.
For this I must sleep, so goodnight and sweet dreams.

My only qualm with this is the fact that you misspelled solace and divine.

This is my favorite stanza:

I really enjoyed reading this. Your ability to write free-form poetry is enviable.
