I was on my knees
Praying for my soul
A selfish man's prayer
To an idle, waiting god.

New days were an optimists tool.
Living for what I have inside.
Nothing but contradictions and ridicule,
For the love of life put aside.

Young and old we stand, together,
Caught up in our own tragedies,
That we lose what we have forever.
Blind by our own misunderstandings.

Carried on the breath of a messenger
Are the rumors I've plasters on you.
Drink the spirits and embrace the laughter,
And I'll keep all I've heard a clue.

All you remind me of is my childhood,
Lost one step below the other.
I feel I've prayed all that I could,
As I lose the trust of my mother.

I still have a living thought,
In this book you bought.
The stillness of our faces,
Terried in broken places.

The joke you played lost all meaning,
As I lost my dull sense of humor.
Just an object to some one else's pleasing,
As your days grown one to many fewer.

Carried on the breath of a messenger
Are the rumors I've plastered on you.
Drink the spirits and embrace the laughter,
And I'll keep what I've heard a clue.
