Whats the most amount of weight you've ever managed to lose? And, how did you manage to do it?

Hopefully this will help give people who need to lose weight ideas... and save time by finding something that'll actually work! _smile.gif

I'm actually in need of losing more weight... I lost 40 pounds between June - October, but I've been stuck ever since then. I lost mine by replacing all my meals with Lean Cuisines. And with everything else, just watched the calories. I'm eating the exact same way I did before, but nothings happening.

I need to lose 10 - 15 more. pinch.gif

I need to loose about 10 pounds.
And the most I ever lost was 10 pounds without trying to diet.
My ex broke up with me and I got really depressed and stressed and I when I would try to eat I'd get sick.
So I didnt eat and lost about 10.

I managed to loose about 45 pounds.

Between end of January last year til about July or August.
lost another 5 pounds between September and November.

I started exercising, running alot, taebo. Weights, but mostly a lot of cardio and running.
Completely changed my diet. Cut out soda, white bread, pasta, and as much sugar as I could. Started eating more salads, drinking more water, fruits, and veggies.
I've slacked off this past month or two and probably gained 6 pounds of it back. But now i'm back to exercising everyday and eating really strict again, so it'll come off again soon. =)

As for more on my diet. I ate perhaps 1 or 2 egg whites a day or everyother day.
A handful of nuts for the good fat and protein I needed. Lean meats such as Chicken and Salmon. I tried to eat as much organic fruits and vegetables as possible. Really read the back of labels and understood how big a serving size is. Tried to cut out processed foods. Not eat so many crackers, cereals, breads, pastas. . .empty calorie stuff. If I needed to have some, then I'd just be smart. stick to whole grains. . . whole grain rice, whole grain pasta every so often. TRY to skip out on chocolate which is hard. And just ate smarter.

Exercise. . . started running about 1 mile. Now i'm about up to 4 miles. atleast 5 times a week. Did Taebo maybe 3 times a week. Worked out with weights 2-3 times a week. Took Ballet class for a while. I go to the gym now, and just started Spinning and Treading classes, they are fantastic and really push you. But just so you know, I lost all that weight before going to the gym, so you don't need to join one to loose weight. It really centered on all that running I did. Did about 15 minutes of abs a day as well. Just keep moving, lol.

Wow, thats great! thumbsup.gif

So did eating organic veggies and fruits make a big difference, compared to eating the regular stuff? What about dairy products? How many calories do you think you consumed a day?

Oh, and did you cut out meat too? I think most meat is pretty fattening. Is the extra protein really needed?

Eeek, excersize? Ahhh I'm so lazy. But that really gives me the motivation to start running!

I've lost 2 pounds at most. whistling.gif I usually manage it by eating fruits everyday and making sure I don't spend too much time doing nothing.

I lost five pounds or so about a year ago. I did it by cutting back on junk food and eating healthier along with frequent exercise. It took me two weeks, I think.

Weight wise, eating organic fruits probably didn't change much then eating regular fruits. But in Organic fruits they don't spray them with chemicals and toxins. So the fruit is fresh, and your body doesn't get poisoned from it. So that was the reason why I ate organic. And when your body is healthier, it has any easier time mainting metabolism and everything. [Plus the organic fruits taste better, lol].
As for dairy products. . . I stayed away from those. I didn't drink milk or anything, and if I had to have milk or something the I got soy milk [The brand Rice Dream actually tastes really good, and i prefer the taste over regular milk]. You gain a good amount of calories from cheese and stuff. When I first started loosing weight, i would alter my diet in sandwhiches by switching to whole grain bread and without adding any cheese. It helps. Again, the only thing I eat now is egg whites. And only 1 or 2 a day max, as far as "dairy" products go.

Yes, I cut out red meat. It is pretty fattening, and not very healthy for you either. I cut out burgers, coldcuts, pepperoni, all that stuff. It has a lot of fat and is hard on your digestive system. Your body does need protein, but there are other ways to get it. I didn't cut out chicken or fish, and i got my protein from that. Also, eating a handful of nuts a day is helpful, It's got a significant amount of protein. But as for the chicken and fish, it helps if it's organic so there aren't any chemicals or toxins in it, but when you are first starting off, it's okay to eat whatever. However, remember to eat it in small enough portions. Your body does need protein, but there are smarter ways to get it then eating red meat, you know?

and yeah exercise is crazy. but start off slowly, and build up.
even 10-15 minutes a day of running or some sort of cardio is great for you.

And the soy milk too? Woah, for some reason you'd think it wouldnt taste all that great... i've never tried it.

Just to compare, when you were dieting, what was your calorie intake? When I lost most of my weight, I was eating anywhere from 500 - 1000 a day... but sometimes less. But I didnt excersize hardly at all... but with excersize, I'm guessing it would be best to have a little more calories?

I've dropped 30 pounds (to about 95 pounds) in 2 weeks for an audition but I hated how I looked then so I gained 20 back. Let's not go into how I lost it.

five pounds. i lost five pounds each for the past two summers.

it wasn't the healthiest way the first summer. i had work and woke up at odd times so i kept missing meals. the odd thing is that people kept telling how great i looked but in the back of my mind i knew i wasn't exactly healthy nor was the weight going to stick.

during the last summer, i was on a dragon boat team and worked also. the physical exertion really toned my muscles and more muscles mean burning more fat. i felt great. the exercise was horrible at first (cause i was weak) but after awhile, it felt great to sweat, you know?

now, i have get my butt up and lose 10-15 pounds.

Yeah in my opinion the organic stuff does taste better, and soy milk tastes good too. even though you don't think it will. I also found a lot of the healhy cereals to be really really good. They weren't full of marshmellows that were too sweet or anything, they had just the right amount of sweetness to it.

My calorie intake. . . hm. . . Probably around 1,000 - 1,500 a day maybe?
But I was eating a lot of healthy food, so I was eating like maybe 5-6 small meals a day.
Just right in portion size, and most of it was raw foods and such. Sometimes less, it really mattered, I didn't want to starve myself, wanted to always feel okay, and not light-headed or anything.
I ate like that with exercise.
I mean, you can't survive on 500 calories alone a day, with exercising for about an hour or something. I mean, you could, and people loose weight like that. But you can't do that for the rest of your life. I made sure to keep a few energy bars around for myself.
But again, i got them from Whole Foods and usually would stick to "Luna bars" or "Cliff bars". I wouldn't buy that crappy stuff from the supermarket or whatever. Those Snicker Marathon bars, or protein bars. THey have alot of crap in there i wouldn't eat.
