See gay isn't all about homosexualness or a generic insult. We all know we often prejudice people we don't like by using this term. But we can also describe people "gay" in a slight way, living a promiscuous life or with AIDS. In a more positive way, it's used to describe a good-spirited man, that's happy. You know? Just happy. It's nature. It's just a desire that occurs .. Take Frankie as an example. He's gay. Why? I respect him for making the right choice. It's unique to be very gay, "claming" that your actually gay to the public. Most gays are embarassed to confess that. A man's a man, with gay pride .. it's 100% gay pride.

This is my lesson for the day. I hope you guys learn the best of it.

Web definition of the word gay: cheery: bright and pleasant; promoting a feeling of cheer; "a cheery hello"; "a gay sunny room"; "a sunny smile"

So if somebody is happy you can call them gay.

Laterz and have a gay day everybody rolleyes.gif .

hehe Back then you could use the word without people thinkin somebody is a homo.

I always thought gay meant happy and cheerful when I was little, and then when you go to school and stuff you get a whole new meaning to words you use to enjoy saying. pinch.gif

^ What Holly said is my reply also.
I always thought it meant happy, but people sue it for the homosexuality term.

The word "gay" in the context of "happy" hasn't been used popularly for a very, very, very, long time. It annoys the hell out of me when people say that it means "happy" as a defense for their idiotic use of it to mean "stupid". "Gay" in the modern world, means "homosexual". It's fine if you honestly believe and do use "gay" as happy, but I've met people who say "That's so gay." and are like "IT MEANS HAPPEEEE!" _dry.gif

I actually haven't heard that word in the context of "stupid" in the longest time (with the exception of this thread), and I'm very glad about it. In Hawaii, my cousins used it all the time, and I found it extremely rude that they meant it as "stupid" when the the words have nothing to do with each other.

I've heard it being used in a replacement of "homosexual" and "stupid" as Kaycee said.

Most of the time, it is used for a cooler way of saying "stupid."

Not the true meaning of gay, but nice try.

People always look at me weird when I use the word "queer" correctly. I've said it a few times out in public and people will just look at me strange.

It's not that they're using it in an incorrect manner(or at least not anymore), it's that it's become a form of slang.

wtf does aids have to do with being gay? just because you are gay doesn't mean you're going to get aids and i dont think you typed the first couple of sentences, but rather copied it from somewhere.

i once said something was gay and my mom was next to me and i had to explain that 'gay' in my case, meant stupid.

it's a slang for stupid, but indeed it does mean happy/homosexuals

Nice job on just learning this Jason. I'm pretty sure we all already knew that, but whatever. Thanks for the "lesson."

I usually use gay in the homosexual term to describe that someone is a homosexual. I hardly ever use it for the stupid meaning.
