Experience has taught me to not trust any Microsoft operating system until after it has had at least one service pack released. And even then, you should always ask yourself "Why didn't I just buy a Mac?" just to make sure you're still open to more sound options.

i thought about that. but macs were too expensive and i wasnt all that into them when i was younger, all i wanted was a computer. then my mom got a laptop from dell so it was too late to even buy a mac book. so it was too late even thought i still would of wanted to buy one.

I've heard that it takes up a lot of your processor..
I have AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz and 1GB RAM on the laptop that I want to install Vista on. It's Vista capable, but I heard that it might run more slowly. ermm.gif

Yeah, I'll make my brother install it first this weekend.

im guessing you, pandamonium, already know this by now (from reading engadget/gizmodo) that all the vista upgrades sucks balls.
it forces you to install vista over your winodows xp. and then invalidating your xp key so you cant use that windows xp anymore. Just get vista ultimate full, oem it 200 bucks if your pr0 ;)

I wouldn't even plan on buying it this early. It's new....there are going to be some bugs with it. Might as well as wait for a little while.

they didnt totally put it down on engadget its just that there were some downs but they said if your up for it then buy it, its just it might make my computer run slower cause my computer isnt very great but it is very decent so i might just stick with xp for another year. im scared my computer might run slow as hell.

I would get it once I buy a new computer, because the computer I am using right now doesn't have the features needed for Vista.

If I am buying Vista, I would so wanna buy Ultimate.

Well my stepdad definitely doesn't like Windows Vista. I don't know anything about computers, but it was something like...nothing worked with it because you had to update stuff? Anyways, he also said there were other problems with it, so I guess I'm just going to stick to Windows XP.

I got to use it the other day on my teachers laptop. She was showing it off, lol. It's really cool and user friendly. It looks so sleek. Sure, it has some bugs, but what OS hasn't in the first few months?

I can't wait to get it. It's amazing. And Direct X 10 and Halo 2 for PC? *drools*

Vista has ALOT of problems.

the main thing is: lack of drivers

Only big thing right with vista is better security

but if i was you, I would wait awhile when I see it improve before getting it. Tons of people are having problem with it and now with dell only offering it with their new systems, it going to get more and more troublesome.

I'll get Vista when they finish working out the kinks. Also, its a waste of money unless you get the premium or ultimate packages.

I really don't think a flashier Windows XP is worth the price Microsoft asks for it.

Is the express upgrade the same as the"full" upgrade? Do both of them have the same properties? same capabilities? or is the express upgrade a shorter/less capable version of the FULL thing?
