Do you guys share some classes together? You can talk about teachers. Or you can ask him if he can study with you? But don't play dumb.
Other ideas: -music -sports -movies -etc. It's not as hard as you think. Just try to make friends with him. He does not need to know that you like him. |

^ agreed. and tons of relationships come from friendships. so be friends with him, first. just think movies, music, sports, school, whatever. casual talk.

well, me and my frens checked out this cute senior in school, and found out his name and all sorts of stuffs. as my school has those student accounts stuffs, where student's particulars are stored, well... we hacked into it and got his phone. that's how i get to know that cute senior. =)
