how do i add two colors to the brush & fonts like this?

ok, as far as i know, this is true. if its not, don't kill me! i don't use ps!
you select the image/pattern that you want your brush to be colored in, and you go to edit- define pattern. you *should* be able to select that pattern and paint with it.

you open the pattern, or image, and go to Edit - Define Pattern.

(i'm sure about this step)

ok this is what i did. i copied the black and white part of the image and defined that but now the pattern comes out black and white and faded. i want different colors thats not faded.

The easy way to do it is this.

Open up a new image, about 10 by 10 pixels. Draw a line of whatever colour on it and then fill the rest with another colour. Now define it as a pattern and use that.
