well. if u use photoshop and there is a white layer beneath it, i guess the person used the lasso tool on the picture layer and feathered it. and maybe added blending options like shadow effects and stuff.

... There's a artistry effect called crosshatch, which Photoshop/PSP may not have, that looks pretty similar. Actually, any one of the brush stroke filters would produce a similar effect.

I suggests testing out some filters..

It looks like the filter that would be under Sketches and be called Water paper if you have it available. happy.gif

GIR in the middle is what the water paper looks like.

In Psp I think the easiest way to do it would be to use the smudge tool and go over just the background with it. Then the background will be blurry, but it won't have the same effects as the picture.

Here's where that is, if you don't know. _smile.gif

I have Psp8, but it should be about the same in other versions i think?

So what they did was take a selection of everything but the person. I think there is a "Curly-Q" filter in PSP - try browsing them to figure out which one... off the top of my head (I'm away from my PC right now), it's the Curl-Q effect (but I have psp7).

Is there any way you would consider just downloading photoshop trial so you can do this one thing. I don't have PSP. and the thing I showed you was pretty exact..

Anyway I guess it would be under Effects though.

Okay well the whole caps lock thing makes me feel like your getting a bit mad about this all.. Can you just download photoshop or no? Or if you can't ever figure it out you can easily get someone else do it for you if you leave it in requests..

ok, ive had PSP9, so, i can tell you that this does exist.

from the top of my head, there are a couple of filters you could try, such as the brush filter.
also, you can duplicate the layer that the image is on, go to the pencil filter, and set it to overlay (or whatever blend mode looks good)
texture effects also work well

1. Use the selection/lasso tool to select all of the area around the outside of the body.
2. Click on one of the image effects shown in my screenshot. A dialog box (depending on the effect you coose) should come up, and then you can press "OK" (or whatever the confirmation button is in you version).
