I'm on cB periodically and I realize how different the atmosphere is since I started out here, and in general, since my last obsessive visits here. (I'm not too sure if any of you remember me. I haven't changed my obnoxious screenname since I first registered.)

I'm wondering how the older members feel cB has changed over the last year, two years, etc. What has happened? What new is there?
I hope that this can bring back some entertaining memories from the past as well.
Reflection time? I hope so. Haha.

^ nope, anyone can get them. Which is why i love cB.
i don't quite recall all the older members, especially when i first joined. back then i was a noob only here to ask for myspace help questions. i looked pretty retarded in a way. then i took hiatus and then now i'm back, all active and posting.

So like cB's been reeeeally different since I first started here in '04. I guess it's like that because of the newer members.. mellow.gif

I should have a really good answer, since I've been a member for so long. Unfortunately, I don't. I never really checked the forums (as you can tell by my post count).

All I can say is...I remember when I came here for xanga stuff and there was nothing for myspace. I remember when there were not as many members, obviously. And I remember createblog used to be way more simplistic, which is also obvious. Oh well.

Overall, I think this site has improved and is still improving.

The easiest way to win me over is to have a decent song/band reference as your username. (I just saw a communist daughter. I do love NMH.)

I kept my obnoxious screename too! Hahah. Before, I wanted to keep it the same as my xanga username, now I'm just too lazy and my member 103 is just too valuable :P.

I guess cB changed, but in a general sense, not really. I think we, as individuals have changed, making the past a memory and the present a different and distant forum.

Hm, reflection time? I remember when cB chat was the cool people place. I was there 24/7, I enjoyed talking to everyone there, a lot more than even posting. And when I did post, it seemed like everyone knew me. The ironic thing is, I would look back at my old posts and see a lot less content, yet people read my posts more often. It was cool while it lasted, I don't think I was really remembered long enough to be missed, and I was never really gone anyway. I've went on and off posting a few every month, about.

For one, I practically lived in member pics ever since the first thread came out. And every single time I visit here again I post in there :). I was, still am, and will love taking pictures! The only thing that changed about that is...how I looked. I wonder why people even said I was pretty before, those webcam pictures were uglllyyy!

And the late night posting, and all the late night people in the cB chat. Before that one club started. And to me, those conversations were a lot funnier than the ones I encountered later on when I went in the chat. Which contained a lot of bashing and perverted conversations.

The really weird thing is...I grew up here, sort of. From the day I joined to now, I have experienced more changes than I have the years before that. I am a totally different person now...I don't think I'll ever forget cB. Really weird.

Over the past 2 years, I feel more confident and more respected. When I first started out, I was sure to be doomed to no friends and would hold the "noob" status forever. Createblog is definately something. _smile.gif Wow...now I feel old. sweating.gif

And yes, i don't appreciate it when people post one thread in relationships and then leave... but then, i guess if it's what they need, then fair enough

I did that, I posted in the relationships, then left for a good 4 months then actually came back to be an active member to now.

My first post....

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...c=32679&hl=

I guess I haven't really seen a big different if I think about it deeply, it just got more boring to me because there hasn't really been as many interesting topics as there used to be. Pretty much all the good stuff is already taken. Plus I miss some old friends that used to come on here.

I think cB has changed a lot since I first joined cos it's a different group of members that actively post nowadays.

Now THAT I can identify with. I've changed a lot sinc eI started visiting Cb as part of my random curiosity when Nicki told me she had been modded (I didn't even know what the term meant).

Cb is something i won't forget. I've had too much fun here, and got talking to a lot of different people, some of whom have actually done a lot to open my mind.

I think it has changed a lot. Intelligent conversation, though it seems to be making a bit of a comeback, has decreased a lot. The maturity level has dropped considerably, and the cliques make even less sense now. It seems like the people used to be cooler based on design talent and interesting posts, whereas now it seems to be more centered around who's saying stupid crap in chat all the time.

Mindy's still in high school; she's going to Wharton next year.

In any case, I think the main difference nowadays, other than what I quoted from Nicki, is that these newer members don't have presence. They don't earn my respect like older members used to--Brandon, Fae, Justin, Danielle, Michael, James, Kryo, Kathleen--all are older members, who have been around for quite a while now. Where is the quality in the newer ones? It makes me sad.

We all have to acknowledge that the older (as in join date) members have grown up with cB together over the years. You always prefer the members who joined around the time as you did because you guys share the same cB memories. However, newer members are generally younger and tend not to get that same feeling you get for cB.

Not sure if I put it right.

Ever since I joined this site, members before me occasionally post about what this site used to be. Before you know it, the n00bs of today will be doing the same thing. Life is everchanging. People are everchanging. Communities are everchanging. The same goes for an internet forum.

Yeah I remember two years ago, I basically stayed in the writing section of this forum on another name and see this forum grow over time. It was interesting though that's what kept me coming back here. Though some sections then aren't what they used to be now. But it would be nice to see some of the older members interact with the newer members rather than just keep in tact with the members you already know. Like people say cB is a community maybe we should start acting like we proclaim to be. I think that came out wrong XD.gif

< Late commer, but hopefully not too late.

HI JORDAN! It's Fae... uninspiredfae that is. Remember me? *hugs*

Let's see. Changes. Well, I got stupid.

Actually, I'm not motivated to be productive on cB since I demoted myself and went on hiatus. I'm just here to be random nowdays so I can't exactly pin point the changes like Nicki, though I do feel them.

What have you been up to?

Pretty much sums it up. And I've always felt out of place when older members start talking about how it was so much better summer of '04, etc. Dare I compare cB to a high school yet again...?

Things change, it's just something we can't help. It kind of makes me sad remembering how things were back then though--it's so different from how it is now. It's just like a brand new toy for a child...after a while, it just gets old.

HI JORDAN, btw. (:

I definitely do not stay with old members, I don't even talk to most people in cB anymore. All I do is post occasionally about something useless. :)

Referring to the original post --

Yup, it did change enough that it became uninteresting to me. I'm only posting now because I told Mr. Capulong that I would if he got rid of my warning level :p (Didn't think he would actually do it)

Hi Brandon! You still in Japan?
Members on this site will always post about what this site used to be, just like how people always talk about how things used to be. Maybe it's human nature.

These days I occasionally pop by to see what cB's like. It's definitely made an impact on me and even though I don't really talk to anyone from cB anymore or post on cB anymore I won't forget it. But with the current cB, I think that it's due to the average age of cB members that's made me find cB lacking of quality.

I'm still in Japan. I should be here until December of 2008 unless I happen to get married and opt to go somewhere else. Needless to say, even after my enlistment, I don't have any plans on being back in the states. I'm addicted to traveling and I'll do it by any means neccesary; even if it means using the military to do so.

Or maybe you grew up and you're no longer in that average age range anymore. :) because I believe that most people are still the same age. I was 13 when I joined.
