Do you try to please other people? Options

I don't think I go out of my way to try to please someone, unless there's an unusual good reason to it.

However, I do believe everybody deserves a certain degree of respect, regardless of their position and/or their relationship with me, so possibly what I do consider basic courtesy can be seen as trying to please to someone else's eyes. To me paying for my boss' coffee is exactly the same than giving 10 euros to a homeless person, in a sense.

I am not particularly concerned about personal opinions, too. It's all a matter of treating people as, well, fellow people to me.
