So, today is me and my girlfriend's 17 months anniversary!
The past anniversaries I was always at college so I couldn't really do anything for her; however, since I am home for winter break and it's our anniversary, I have this whole idea planned out and wanted get some of your inputs!

So, basically, my attic is spacious and I was thinking of setting up sort of a romantic dinner there. I am going to get a table and put it in the middle, and put candles on the floors to surround it, and lead to it from the top of the stairways. I'm also going to have classical music playing in the background. In addition, since I'm not much of a cook, I'm going to order steaks from Charlie Browns, but I'm going to make salad and dessert by myself. My friend also hooked me up with a bottle of wine so I'm going to get a bucket, filled with ice, and enjoy ourselves.

That is pretty much it so far! What'd you guys think? Did you guys think I'm missing anything?
Advice would be greatly appreciated! tongue.gif

Thats so sweet!! Your girl is really luck to have you if you care about her that much.

I think what you have is awsome. She should love it because you put so much care into it, thats what really matters.

Um, you might knock out the candles and set the attic on fire. >_< Well, Idk. I think that's really sweet though and I'm sure she'll love it. Give her flowers too! :D

I don't have much to add to an already very well planned romantic evening. Would it be possible to blindfold her before leading her to the attic? Keep the suspense moving a bit before letting her see all the candles and such?

Have a TON of fun. :)

Sarcastic:

That's not an anniversary... *sigh*

Anniversary: the date on which an event occurred in some previous year (or the celebration of it)

17 months = 1 5/12's of a year... illogical... not even 1 1/2 years...

I think that you should bring her up in your attic and make fun of her the entire time just like you make fun of everyone else on CB. Make fun of her so much that she wants to leave and cry.

I think you should add some liquor to the wine so she can enjoy your stale sense of humor.

Have fun, maybe on your 18 months "anniversary" you can do something even more special.

Seriously:

I dunno, sounds nice. :P

she may think he's going to kill her... seriously, being blindfolded and lead up to an attic... eesh.

lol.

but congratulations!

possibly scatter some rose petals on the stairs up to the attic, or around the table among the candles? but im nitpicking, it sounds lovely.

Wow, those are the kind of things you see in movies. I think this girl will love it. _smile.gif I know I would! Make sure they're scented candles.

Nice, Seon Ho. thumbsup.gif
I know a lot of guys who wouldn't even think about doing something like this for their girlfriend. ermm.gif

Most people pretty much said what I'd have to say about flowers and candles (aromatic).

What would really finish it off would be a proposal kneeling down with a ring and everything. Of course, perhaps that's thinking a bit too far ahead? Otherwise, perhaps you could get another gift of some sort, a bracelet, necklace, etc. Preferably something memorable. And don't forget to kiss. wink.gif

Hopefully this comment isn't too late. whistling.gif

That all sounds good, but maybe you could dance to the music after you're done eating or something. Change the music to something danceable if necessary. ^^

laugh.gif at the blindfold her and up the stairs idea. What if she tripped?! That would be terrible.

The idea sounds good though. Make sure your attic smells good - my attic smells pretty gross.
Congratulations on the seventeen months! _smile.gif

PS. Uronacid, don't be a jerk. Seon Ho's being nice.

it all sounds really sweet. and you seem really excited which is adorable.
hmm... steaks? that sounds a little heavy. iunno, if i'm having a romantic dinner with my boyfriend, i would want to keep the meal light so i don't feel uncomfortable and bloated afterwards. maybe her favorite meal or something from her favorite restaurant?

oh, and for a really romantic dessert, you should have strawberries with cream and melted chocolate. that way you can feed each other and be all lovey dovey.

good luck. =)

no offense, but i think it's really ironic that you cuss at people and leave bitchy comments but then turn around and post something where you're asking for help.

or maybe im the only one who thinks so. _smile.gif

I think it's a great idea!

I got to agree with Maggie and Uronacid.

But I think it is really sweet and all that you want to do something like that for your girlfriend. I'm sure your a lot nicer in real life then over the internet.

I think it sounds like a pretty decent idea though, and I'm sure she'll love it since she hasn't been able to see you that much because of college.

Quite a bit for a non-landmark 'anniversary'! but congrats, anyhow
Although it's nice to know you're throwing in the effort of attempting to cook SOMETHING when you can't really cook. Good idea _smile.gif

Hmmm.. For the floor, you can also put rose petals surrounding the table, but that is one romantic anniversary. _smile.gif I would be a happy girl if someone did that for me. :)
