I never bought clothes from either stores except one time .. I think 4 years ago. I have to be honest, I don't really think it's pure "prep" fashion. It's trash to be honest. American Eagle is nice and it's not as bad and those two stores i've mentioned .. plus their clothes are too expensive .. I can go to Marshall's and buy 4 tees and the final cost would turn out to be the price of 1 pair of jeans at a& f .. I respect A/X, Lacoste, and J.crew even though they're pretty even more expensive because they have a real, authentic "preppy" original look .. but I cannot stand Hollister and A&F ..

Yeah, I heard that too! And it was totally true. They didn't have any asians! But I think the company heard about that and probably changed their policies since then... because I saw a really hot asian guy working at Hollister the other day. ![]() Oh, you know what drives me insane besides the ridicuously tiny sizes? (basically for girls who never reached puberty and have no shape whatsoever) Girls who wear brand name clothes that are waaaaay too small for them. Seriously, you know you don't fit into a medium, so don't even try. It doesn't look good. Get a bigger size! If there is no bigger size... it's just an bird/moose logo for crying out loud! Go somewhere else and find something that is actually flattering. eta; Wow. I'm on a mean streak. I feel somewhat bad. Eh, I'll get over it. Just felt the need to rant. ^ Speaking of the bird/moose logos, it kills me to see those Hollister/A&F polos. They're the exact same as the ones i've seen at Target and such for about $6-10 and you pay $24.50 at Hollister, $39.50 for A&F JUST FOR A STINKIN LOGO. Now the whole polo thing is just wrong. |

I'm now considering making my own logo. Just go on and grab one of those Target polos and tape the logo on... yeah.

Ew. that is the worst irritation ever. I once saw some slutty 6th graders hanging out in front of a mirror at Hollister. I wanted to choke them.

Haha, that reminds of someone I know who bought a plain white t-shirt for five dollars. He took a permanent black marker and wrote the words 'Abercrombie & Fitch on the front in his chicken scratch writing. People came up to him and complimented him. Maybe they thought his handwriting made it look like a cool design or something...I don't even know but it further proves the point that it's just about the name. |

^ I know. Some things I see at Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister I have to buy because they really do have cute clothing. Target is great!
But then you see girls with "HOLLISTER SO CAL!" written on their shirt. Then "HOLLISTER SO CAL!" written on the back of their pants. Then "HOLLISTER SO CAL!" on their sweatshirt. & I always have to think, "Wtf. You live in New York. Stop wearing clothing with Southern California written all over it!" Wow, you don't happen to live in the DFW area do you? There's a kid at the senior high around here that did the exact same thing. ![]() Hahahaha, no I don't. It's the greatest idea though isn't it? |

Wow, i've been wondering all along. You answered my question. Haha.
I was wondering if in New York or whatever else state that Hollister clothes still say So. Cal on it. If i didn't live in so cal i probably wouldn't even wear it. haha. |

I don't get the deal with shirts or sweaters or any other items of clothing that just have the brand name spat in giant letters somewhere. It just contributes to discrimination, in a totally twisted way. That would just be wicked if you did live in DFW. It'd add up to a total of two whole people on CB that were randomly in the same area ![]() |

Aren't four-year-olds somewhat short? I wasn't aware A&F made clothes of that size... Unless her parents are mad rich and get everything tailored. Or her mother's a tailor. Who knows.
Personally, I think kids under five should be completely oblivious to name brands. |

Personally, I think kids under five should be completely oblivious to name brands. THEY ARE but there are so many shows that did specials on kids clothing. i think it was 20/20 that did one on designer kids clothes.. It was so interesting cause these parents spent like 180 on a shirt for a 7 year old girl. SO they interviewed the designer and asked her why are the prices so high when they are just clothes.. so she responded "look at them they are different, you cant go to gap and buy that" and it was funny cause she said that 3 times after that. and on "The View" they were showing how little girls clothes were getting more refined and how toddler jeans for girls were much tighter for girls than boys. and that the girl jeans didnt have stretchy bands. They thought that since they are girls they move around less than boys so they should make girls pants tighter. its ridiculous. personally i would care what my baby wears, but there are a lot of cheap solutions out there. like Children's Place where all the clothes are really cheap and they look good [and i know cause i have 2 god-children] lol. |

I agree, but they aren't completely garbage, Their clothes are really expensive and I never bought anything there. You can actually just rip jeans yourself without paying all that money.

Obviously, since A&F is actually geared toward adults and older teens, not 4 year old preschoolers. but yeah, they'd look way better off if they'd bought cute little fluffy clothes at Target or Kmart instead of being a 4 year old slut. |

[If you think that wearing Hollister/A&F clothes is slutty]: Honestly, not ALL Hollister/A&F clothes are "slutty". How is it slutty, really? Just because their clothes are made for people with a skinnier figure doesn't make it slutty clothing. But other than that, If you're filthy rich, and have nothing better to spend your money on, you can buy whatever you want. I don't get why a 4 year old would need to buy such expensive clothes at such a young age. ![]() |

^ Sorry about that, ann. Not exactly what i meant.
Their clothes arn't slutty. They're just geared toward people older than 4 and therefore, a 4 year old would seem like one in a way. I dunno why these little kids are wearing them because their peers wouldn't even care about it..but i guess that's her choice, not mine. |
