Ever since I was born, I was fine with my surroundings, who I was friends with, the community, the schools, relationships, etc. It started to get buried after 6th grade. During 4th-6th grade I made a lot of friends I can sure go to when I'm in trouble, who I can trust 100% of the time no matter what situation. After 6th grade graduation, I was excited for middle school. I was thinking "Oh it'll be the time where things would get more exciting" .. but like weeks later in the summer, they say we're going to move sometime this week. I was f**king mad and sad at the same time. I had to leave every shit behind and had to start over. So I moved to this town and it was totally different. The population was less, more whites, more quiet, boring ... so obviously I had attend middle school there. It was f**king miserable. I got suspended, got racial remarks from dirty white people, and had backstabbers. Before where I lived, I had about 20 close friends I hung out with, and here, I only have like 4. I begged my parents to move back but they were like "No" .. I just don't feel comfortable here. But now that I'm in high school in this town, I hope things would be fresh but it's going alright. Still f**ked it up. ever been ina situation like this?

wow..this thing has only been going on for 2 days. and already, theres 3 pages.
you guys, just leave her alone. imagine having a tight group of friends who you had to leave. he's just venting to us. although, id have to say that the whole sterotyping thing is just..a tad overboard. we're turning it into something HUGE. i listen to "emo" bands. (death cab, the early november, ect, ect.) but im definitely not emo.

I think you have come off as a miserable person to others in your new town. You moved with a bad attitude and some people might really like their home. But you were like, "This sucks, I hate everything, RAWR." So, that's a possibly reason why they don't like you.
And it's not your parents' fault. They didn't make the people you're surrounded by. |

Look.
I moved to a whole new country and had to start again. I sulked for, oh, about a year. And things only got better when I realized that we weren't going to up stakes and move back. I still keep in contact with people I knew, and there is no reason why you can't do it with your old friends. if anything, Nicki and I are possibly closer now than we would have been if I'd stayed there... who knows? The bottom line is dont waste your life wondering 'what if I'd never moved', because you have. If you don't feel immediately comfortable with most of the people there, power through. Yea, it might be awkward and suck at first, but if you keep at it with a decent attitude (i.e not saying things like 'asians aren't emos', which creates a bad impression), it will only get better. And even if you never become part of a huge crowd, so what? You said yourself you 'only' have 4 or so close friends, but friendsarent generally measured in numbers... quality over quantity and so forth. Oh, and on a side note, blaming your parents won't help. Been there, done that. Chances are, they miss elements of where ever you lived before, and having someone whine at them wont generate any sympathy. |

Well, you can't force the whole world to cooperate with you but the best you can do is start talking to the people who haven't dissed you yet and maybe you could pluck some friends out of that. come on at least try. And white people and asians are not 100% different. I'm sure you share interests with some of them..

wow i'm sorry i know what you went threw i moved from manhattan, new york city to a small town called wildwood in florida and in new york i had friends for 13 years in that area and then i moved and it was so so different, but its all up to you to make the best of it.

Parents ruined your life...? I'm pretty sure they GAVE you life. And it's not like the reason why they moved was to make your life miserable. Grow up...things like this happen to everyone all the time. You gotta learn to deal. Saying things about white people who supposedly say things about you, doesn't make you any better by the way.

Statistik,
When I was younger I moved around everywhere. My dad was in the Army so we had to move between states all of the time. I moved around from Kentucky, South Carolina, New York and New Jersey for years until I finally went and settled in New York. I was really comfortable in South Carolina. I had a lot of friends, most of which were close. But whenever the Army wanted my father somewheres else than that is what happened. To this day I only have 2 really close friends. I guess the only advice I would have is to roll with the punches. I still search local libraries for the guidebook to life ^_^ -Ant |
