Does anyone know where I can get Light Textures? I've searched google/deviantart/good-tutorials (Even tried to find a tutorial for it, but nope).. I want some light textures that has like a black background with it. There are a couple light textures here but they end up being for avatars, 100x100. Even though I can make it bigger, but it doesnt seem right.

//EDIT

For example:
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=152158 But I don't want those lines of light.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=146327 Like the Fire Textures (Even though it looks like light to me), Highspeed is good but I don't want those lines.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=146431 Pretty much, similar to those. Know anymore textures like that out there? Maybe a little bigger perhaps?

Mostly it's like light textures that has circles or something. Maybe even different shapes?
Or should I say "LIGHT EFFECTS" so I won't confuse people. =X

Ohh, I guess you were mistaken and I typed it wrong.

I meant light as in like Lightbulb or lightstrikes or whatever. Something shiny light. Not light that hasn't too much dark and kind of bright.

I've been there already and didn't see any LIGHT textures.

--EDITED my post for more detail of what I meant by "LIGHT".

(21 - 24 are the textures that Fire is taken from. All are wallpaper size, which should be sufficient for most needs. I have the raw images those textures were created from too, if you'd like those. Mostly I just take my really old digital camera and wave it around while taking pictures of lights. The fire textures were just really bright ceiling lamps in a resturant. Lots of fun, I tell ya. ^_^ Ah, the benefits of asking the artist what they did to create things.)

(hit "candyshop")

(Big. And a couple of tutorials too!)

(hit "general textures", pg.2)

I'm sure if you ask Kristina (the girl who submited the textures you like), she'd tell you how she made those so you can do it yourself. -shrug- She's not mean or anything. Though I hope you realize that most light textures look like that first set you showed. That's the general style of them because they're created to look like streaks of light. Hence, the name "light textures." They're also really not that great on larger projects (erm, it's mostly because they tend to highlight the parts you'd like to hide). That's why they mostly come in icon texture format.

oo Thanks.
I absolutely love the colorfilter on page 2, 4th one. The circle`ing/hexagon`ish light. Too bad there was only one. =X
Thats what I'm looking for or other light things. I'm just not looking for lines since they will look ugly on my work.

Well, the reason I'm using the light effect textures because they will give a nice touch to it other than using brushes and make it shine. (x

... Do you know that for sure? It's a sort of tech-y look, the lines. And they're mostly meant to give colour and highlight. Have you actually tried them on anything?

... Am also assuming you've never tried overlaying icon textures. They do have advantages when being used on larger pieces of work. For one, light textures are meant to be used with screen or lighten. That means that the black background completely dissappears when you use them. Therefore, you can add the spots of light pretty much wherever you want on your project. -shrug- Just a suggestion.

Yes, Fishcake-y, I have. That's what I'm using for. lol.

I'm using the light textures to make sure it has the black backround and set the layer mode to Lighten. (x

Thanks for those 3 links. Those are the things that I was most likely looking far. (=
