It's nice to see that this topic has gotten some relatively recent responses. I'm just wondering--which of Regina's albums is your fave?

Begin To Hope is amazing, but I'm partial to Mary Ann Meets The Gravediggers.

I've only listened to Mary Ann online; it's depressing how few music stores stock Regina's work around here. Begin to Hope is indeed amazing, though.

Barnes and Noble has Begin To Hope on display here mellow.gif
Yesterday they had Soviet Kitsch, too, but I doubt you're likely to find any of her other stuff anywhere but an independant music store.
And I don't think Mary Ann is even sold in the US

She has the worst vocal technique I have ever seen and her nasal voice makes me want to claw my ear drums out.

I find it very, very, very sad that I've only recently caught on to Ms. Spektor, but I'm listening to her now and On the Radio is giving me a happy offbeat feeling. _smile.gif

Regina spektor is distantly related to another Russian singer i like Origa. (he sings in japanese though lol odd)

I love both their sounds. But i prefer Origa over Regina if I had to pick.

I don't know if someone already made a topic about her in the past, but here it is.

When I first heard a song of hers, I didn't like it. I haven't appreciated her music until just today. I dunno if it's her interesting music videos or just her unique style of singing, but I've found her pretty entertaining. I liked the videos for "Us" and "Fidelity."

Fidelity and Begin to Hope suck. People really need to listen to her old albums, the new one is a bastardization and a damn shame. VH1-approved chick rock isn't cool.

Get Songs, 11:11, and Soviet Kitsch.

^Mostly agreed. Mary Ann Meets the Gravediggers, although a compilation, is my favorite of her albums because it flows and fits together so nicely.

Regina's Atlanta show got rescheduled twice, so it was finally last Friday. I could have gone because it was a Friday and I have my car now, but I couldn't decide whether I wanted to until Wednesday when it sold out. Oh well..
