I model for an alternative implied nude site.. and got accepted for suicide girls... BUT

i wanted to do other things... like oneal or something, or fox racing..... you have to be 5'7"!!! I think it's shitty that I have all the other requirements, but I'm one or two inches short of the height requirement. It sucks that there are so many girls out there who would be great to model, but they are just a tad too short. I know you have to be 5'7" so the jeans wont be too long... but in all honestly. i have, like, NO LEGS. my torso is twice as long as the normal one. it's actually quite freaky. so even if i am tall enough, it's all in my torso, so the pants would STILL be too long. Therefore, I think their theory is out the window on that one.

showstopper!

yeah...are you just trying to tell us that your a model so we can be like "oMg yOu'Re a ModEl??!! iM soOO JeALous!!
honestly, i think anyone shorter than 5'7 is already a little too short. cuz the height requirement use to be taller but they keep on bringing it down. models are models, if your too short, go do something else. its like saying "oh, we should allow everyone to be a doctor because its only fair!"

I think it's stupid how you can't really model if you have a curvy body type. My measurements are 34", 24", 38", and I'm 5'8", but I weigh like... 130 or so, and I have wider hips. I'm not cut stick-thin like all of these other models.

i agree.

honestly, clothes just look better in photographs or even in real life when they're on taller models. that's why runway models are usually around 5'10". shrug.gif

what i don't understand is why you have to be tall to be a model. i think it's ridiculous that there's a height requirement...

Hey I'm only 5'3 and I get modeling jobs all the time. Not runway or high fashion, but commercial, print, editorial, petite, etc. You don't have to be tall to be a model. Just keep looking. I'm sure there will be an opportunity out there for you.

wrong. devon aoki is 5"6 and was technically one of the most sought-after models at the height of her career.

regardless, clothing on tall people drape nicer and photograph better.

and its just how the industry is, you can't change it.

^^ yeah totaly
im not fat.
im a size 6,36c cup i just got some latin backside. i mean i am puerto rican
shit.
modeling i find overated.
every girl i know wants to be a model for all the wrong reasons.
like one girl i know wants to be model to have it easy like the people on americas next top model.
or just to get out of school.
i do some modeling for my best friend as hes a fashion designer.
but he only hires girls that are 5'8 and below.
and they have to have a hourglass/curvy body.
but they arnt plus sized girls-far from it.
they actualy do look better then taller industry models
so this bullshit about how taller models are better isnt always true.|

Most high fashion clothes fall better on someone tall and thin. Also instead of measuring each outfit individually for each model they only have to make them a certain size and do minor alterations.

Just get over it.

^ Haha, yeah that's what I was thinking. Imagine how tedious it would be if you had to make different sizes of outfits and such. I also think when they do runway it would look strange if you had some 5'3 woman come out and then some 6'1 thin girl come out afterwards. Runway just looks better when you have some uniform of the shape and sizes of the women. I think that's why models who want to do photography have a better chance of actually getting the job. I mean, they can edit photos and take more of them so you can choose the one that looks best. When you do runway it's one shot deal.

whatever. im 5'8 and i cant do runway modeling. i have to stick with print work. even though the height requirement for runway is around 5'8 5'9 ish, designers still prefer girls that are at least 5'10 to 5'11. clothes just look better on taller people.

That just means you can't do runway, you can still do printwork and commercial.

Guys high fashion clothes just look better on tall skinny people. Get over it.

I know someone that got accepted for that whole suicide girls thing..

Anyway yea its a little bogus I guess on some of the requirments they put out to be a model, although I think anyone could really be a model, everyone looks for something different, its just about finding it.

devon has an famous and extremely wealthy family, so i don't think she is the best example. mona johannesson, sasha pivovarova, and natalia vodianova are around 5'6-5'7. but they also are very thin, unique and lucky
