You gotta get a bunch of songs you like, put them on a CD, or playlist, or whatever you kids use these days, and chill out the whole ride.

Music. Play games on your phone. Stare out the window. Take random pictures.

I used to drive up to Boston to see my sister every once in a while, and that's basically what I did..

Listen to music, sleep, and/or talk. Watch movies if you take charter buses.
That got me through a 16 hour ride to NY. It was actually not too bad at all.

Gossping is a really great way to waste time on bus rides too. Petty, yes, but who gives a damn. Or, try to convince someone that iPods are connected to the internet. (If you stick it out the window, it'll get better connnection!) Better yet, I can loan you this guy Michael, who provides hours of amusement on the bus. As often as I got a headache from it, all of my bus rides this year were incredibly amusing. Granted, the longest was 2 hours, but I took about 15 trips this year.

I used to take like 9-16 hr bus rides on choir trips to big competitions, and went on a 6 day road trip to guatemala once

Bring your mp3 if you have one, or a gameboy or DS/PSP if you any of that sort of thing. Portable DVD if you have one. A book, if you're the reading type. [ or magezines ] otherwise, sit next to someone you can laugh with or just sleep. 6 hours is not long at all.

Take a portable dvd player or something, or just take a board game or something. laugh.gif Something like trouble, its childish but its funny watching people spaz out because their losing such a childish game. Take a book even. -shrugs- It probably won't be to long anyway, if you get along with a lot of people on the swim team then you'll more than likely be socializing.

I've always enjoyed long bus rides.. I'd bring books, music, etc for the trip and never ended up using it because I was having too much fun with the people around me.

During tennis season away games, we'd get a huge poster board and write "HONK IF YOU LOVE MILPITAS TENNIS!" in huge letters and tape it to the windows of the bus. Cross country did the same thing and we sat on opposite sides of the bus to see which side got more truck drivers to honk at us.

Of course, tennis won. It amused us for the entire season.
