i can't dance. i'm not talking about anything fancy, just dancing on a dancefloor with friends, you know? can't do it! i really wish i could though because i'm not shy at all and i love parties, i just can't dance! i mean, slow dancing is easy i guess but like just dancing and having fun, is there some kind of secret, or will i just be awkward forever...? helphelphelp.

Go out on the dancefloor with a friend who can dance [well] and follow her movements. Just move however feels right to the music. Sorry if this didn't help.

Just..dance. I don't really know how to explain it. I mean, you might not be able to dance just because you're self conscious about it. If you're REALLY worried about it, go in front of a mirror and just fool around a bit. :)

Do you have rhythm? Is that the problem?

I can't dance at all, laugh.gif I'm really good with dancing games though!

I don't have a problem with Rhythm either, I guess I never really found the point in dancing, I like standing and tapping my foot to the beat. Little odd, I know.

If you really want to know the secret and your friends can dance, why not get them to show you how? It could be fun too.

there really is no definate secret about it, its how ever the music and rhythem goes and how ever you feel like movin around and having fun at the same time go for it. nothings wrong with dancin like a goof cause you're not the only one. you may be just too self concious, relax its just movin your body to the beat, and you aren't the only one who feels this way, just takes time to get used to it esp if you are really shy, but once you can face the fear you'll have even more fun esp with your friends dancing along with you.

Listen to the music
Turn it up, let it go
Take it in until you feel it
Take control

I LOVE that song. throb.gif

Anyways..
Just move your body to the beat.
Maybe you should watch some music videos and try to imitate the moves.

lol secret? jus move to tha music but dont do any funky move or sumthin. what REEEAAALLLLLYY helps is watching music videos. you can also learn dances to certain songs by watching tha music video and then you wont look stupid when tha song goes on and everyone is walking it out pwahhaa.

Get with someone who REALLY knows how to dance (preferably a guy because it's easier to follow) and kind of... "feel" the music. don't try to do any specific or impressive moves. Just move in a way that feels natural.

most important body parts to use in my opinion: arms and hips.

And usually dancefloors are crowded so no one will notice if you dance funny tongue.gif

Practice in your room in front of the mirror, listening to all kinds of different music. Just flow with the song and dance however you feel like, then you can decide what you think looks best or is most comfortable for you. _smile.gif

I used to think I couldn't dance, until my friends dragged me onto the dancefloor at my schools Christmas Ball. We started immitating other people, just joking around, and screaming out the lyrics to the songs. I guess my problem was I was just uptight about it, and when I loosened up, I figured out I wasn't a horrible dancer. :D

So, just go with the floooww. Relaxx. Let the rythem take you to another plaaace. [sways back and forth] XDD
