today is the day of the blue coat
lime green flipflops on a seat in a gray boat
as it floats down a street stream
who knows where it stops
what do you believe

this is the morning of sighs so sad
they fade into a dimness
that echoes off my dad
and disappear after miles of looking near
it isn't the same

my brother left me not long ago
to a world the mesquite trees grow in and know
even cacti see his face more often than i
and the air is carry'n to me his reborn bright
it isn't the same <--- took it out.

they're whispering the effects
good or bad
rich or done for more alike
they are you and me
where pepper noses bleed
the damage is done
believe the need
