Actually, that's not a downside at all. I like how they stuck to the standard. You can always buy rechargeable AA batteries anyway. No problem! 15 years from now when you take Wii off the shelf and want to play some classic games (like I do with my NES and SNES all the time) you'll be able to replace the batteries easily. Unlike the PS3 or 360 built in batteries that would be long dead by then, even when charged, and the controllers are basically impossible to find.

The batteries in the 360's controllers aren't really built-in. They pop out as a little battery pack, and you can get a battery pack that takes AA batteries for the 360's controllers.

^ Oh, ok! See, I had always wondered about that. That's really cool. My friend told me they had a "built in battery pack." I guess that's what he meant. Goes to show you should always trust Google over your friends, haha.

All the more reason for a Wii60! XD.gif

He can't help that it's true.

Although a rechargeable, albeit removable battery would be nice. But again the controller is very comfy the way it is, with the battery pack and all.

So tough call it is.

Not to mention I'm actually an Xbox 360 fan. rolleyes.gif When I see a good console, I know it. Wii is an amazing console. I'm not gonna sit here and bash it just because it's not my favorite.

Yeah, but it was because the wrist straps were breaking or something.

laugh.gif I went to my friend's house and played today. IT WAS SO COOL. But I kept on falling over. rolleyes.gif He only waited like three hours in line to get it, no idea how. He didn't get a reservation for one, either. ohmy.gif

Haha that's really funny. Wow, and I never thought people would get over enthusiastic.

And, Arjuna, XD.gif than site even said that most of the people were "swinging like Mach 1" so I could see why it would brake. Did you see that one guy in that movie? He looked like he was trying to throw a 98 MPH fastball. I can definitely see it happening though. Oh well. I'm sure they'll either replace them or some 3rd party company will jump on this and sell packs of improved ones to make a few bucks, lol.

Also, every one of those reports were from playing Wii Sports. All other Wii games only require a steady arm or gentle flicking as opposed to wild motions. I think you'll find after trying most games that wrist straps breaking is not an issue

Ha ha yeah, it did seem biased. And yeah, I think it said the wrist straps were replaced.

Regardless of all that, I'll probably end up with the Wii if I get a new system. Or should I say my little brother.

So whats the official word on the Nintendo Wii supply? I heard my friends say that they have some at target, but I was under the impression that they're sold out and hard to find. If they're available now, I might as well go and snatch one up instead of another ipod.

http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com/ is really interesting, the video where the guy throws the remote is crazy, there is definitely a huge design flaw with the strap.

haha thats a funny article. I remember when I thought I was in the game throwing Jabs and uppercuts at a computer playing the boxing for wii. crazy stuff man lol. Sports game for Wii make it more entertainable thus making this system very popular unlike other systems where you sit down....controller in hand...and play....no active stuff at all. you can lose some serious weight playing the Wii...call it wiidiet.

I'll get you think link, but Nintendo reports to have 4 million available by the end of the year. They'll be pumping them out soon, you just have to look at the right places because they are in high demand. happy.gif

QUOTE
we continue to be astonished by reports of property destruction and personal injury, wondering precisely what sort of acts might have presaged these costly anomalies. We are not without our theories.

Nintendo has countered this behavior with a friendly and informative online brochure, whose bipartite wisdom can be expressed as

1. Hold On To The Controller,

and

2. Do Not Let It Go, respectively.

I think Tycho says it best.

Bias would require some sort of argument why the Wii is NOT a phenomenal system.

Not that anyone doesn't already know this but Nintendo has confirmed over 600,000 sales for the Wii in the first 8 days of release.

Faster than the PS3
Faster than the 360
