Old punk is way better then anything the "new punks" dish out.

I enjoy some of the older punk bands but mostly I dont listen to any of it now, but I would say emo. Just cause I listen to some emocore.

I like emo, but I've been leaning more towards pop-punk recently. It's so upbeat and it's hard to stay happy when you're listening to sad songs. I still like emo though.

Punk: Happy go lucky lyrics about friends and life and why doing stuff sucks biggrin.gif
Emo: Sadness and "emotion" sad.gif

I catch myself listening to emo sometimes, fact is those guys can really sing. If I had to choose though, i'd be all over punk.

Punk: Greenday (mostly), NOFX, MXPX, Rancid, AFI

Emo: Yellow Card, Sugarcult, Dashboard Confessional, jimmy eat world.

Actually...AFI swings both ways. Meh. Weird, but meh.

I voted for emo, because some of my favorite bands are that (Saves The Day, Moneen, Further Seems Forever, The Early November, Dead Poetic [their songs have emo lyrics! Hell, tons of none "emo" songs have emo lyrics.] & Brand New).

If someone put indie as an option in there, I'd rather pick that. It's different hence the name "independent." Some indie bands are (well, I think they're indie): Aria Decline, Broken Social Scene, Cursive, Mae, Modest Mouse, & The Postal Service.

Oh and whatever the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, IMA Robot, Stellastarr*, Elefant, The Libertines, The Jealous Sound, & The Von Bondies are, I'd vote for that too. happy.gif
