Welcome to the AO FANART CONTEST!

The banner contest was such a big success, thanks to all those who participated.
Now, on to fanart!


Rules and Guidelines are Simple
*Be sure to be an AO member before you sign up for this...

Step 1: pick your favorite anime or anime character.
Step 2: Use fine art mediums to draw your character. Such as pen, ink, pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, conte, markers, crayons, paint...etc. [No use of Photoshop or Illustrator please, we can save that for a later competition].
Step 3: After you're done, take a picture or scan it and submit it in this thread.
Step 4: Be sure to get it in by November 12th
Step 5: Smile, you done gooood. biggrin.gif

*just to let you know we probably will have a community vote for this contest.
So I will make up a voting thread after the 12th. The reason I like having ppl
submit their work in here, is that it gives you a feel for the people you are competing
with, and also inspires you to do better with your own work.
So, no judges this round!

Are we allowed to draw the exact same thing as one of the fanarts there, but as long as it's our own work? Juuuuuust wondering, 'cause I'm uncreative.

yeah, I mean you guys can look off pictures you find online
or grab a manga and collage some different pictures together in your head
then draw from there. Looking off something is totally okay.


As long as you are the one drawing or painting it then it's okay.

THE ONE THING i can actually sign up for =3 woot woot im so excited!!
are you sure on the due date thing...? cause it changes from time to time so make a final date?


edit// if its a community vote how will weknow the contestants wont make other accounts to vote for themselves =/ i was thinking about this...cause i know i would haha ^^;

Yeah the due date is pretty much set in stone.
I mean, Nov 12 is the cut off date. So hopefully we'll have more then 1 submission in on time!
lol, cuz yeah....lol, then i'll be forced to put something in if that happens, ha.
so NOV 12 guys! Get those in!

I'm not using polls to do the voting or whatever, you'll actually have to comment and post what fanart piece you like the best. And if it's a newbie that is voting that has like just a few posts, and it looks shady then i'll ask someone to run an IP check just incase. But I trust all of ya'll, i'm sure you'll make it a fair contest. Anyone caught cheating or making multiple accounts to vote will be eliminated.

Yeah, i didn't think it fair to combine fine arts with computer graphic stuff, ya know?

But there def will be an all photoshop or illustrator challenge.
so fan art using the computer =)

one of the future competitions.

yeah that vexel is sahhweeet! right about the background though in the peoples comments. it isnt your fault, you havn't played the game so its alright =] it looks really good though anyways!

Just Around 5 hours in and I'm 1/2 done! It's all Pencil. All done by me. Almost completly freehand. Well, except for a few References...the gosh darn hair is soo annoying. 2hrs commited to getting the hair right, and thats for just two characters! Ugh It's 5 in the morning and I'm still working on it. Ugh looks like my 4th all nighter this week

lol tell me about it personally the eyes is whats effin me up. i went through two sketches already took me forever and the eyes is what really gets peoples attentions. its what draws you in i think. but the hair ...mehh yeah its pretty hard especially when the characters hair is like 15 ft long D: damn i have no time...i must finish T__T;
