Actually, quite frankly I don't understand what's going on. Maybe there's some kind of hidden theme that I'm ignorant to. So I guess the mods should lock this, because it seems like spam to me.

Not looking like spam to me.

So we have Jesus here looking at part of horse with some type of claws attached with several legs and some type of chick statue, building and almost pyramid looking thing.

Interesting.

Actually no, it's called the temptation of St. Anthony. That's St. Anthony right there trying to avoid being tempted (looks like the whore of babylon maybe?) and a bunch of powers.

But obviously some people won't get it, so I think a picture with deep meaning like this should be locked.

I think this should stay open, let others get into the deep meaning and all. Spread the knowledge.

Kyro, then why start the topic in the first place?

- - -

Not my favorite Dali piece, but it is kind of interesting. I wonder why the animals are all spindly legged. And can you say phallic symbols?

I don't get it, why does this one get to stay open, but you won't let me "spread the knowledge" in my other posts?

^You're suppose to "spread the knowledge" in the first post and try to get some discussion started. You haven't been doing that and that usually causes a lot of spam. We're actually trying to get some discussion going here.

This is an intriguing painting. What year was it painted? Maybe that'll provide some information on why he painted this.

Where did I start a chain of spam messages? When was there a spam topic that was my fault? Is there a reason it's my fault that people decide to post even though they have no idea what's going on?

HEY LOOK A THREAD I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT, LET ME TALK OBNOXIOUSLY AND MAYBE PEOPLE WILL THINK I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

Why am I punished?

I looked it up earlier, I believe it was painted in 1946.

Because you're not providing enough basis for discussion. That falls under pointless posting. You can't just post a random phrase or picture and expect people to pick up on it. So, yes, those topic are spam. Now, please, carry this discussion out in PM with me and I'll be more than happy to talk with you about it. This isn't the place for it.

mellow.gif The purpose is to discuss Dali. And he doesn't have better "pictures". Dali wasn't a picture maker or photographer, he was an artist. He has works of art, called paintings.

That being said, I love Dali; his style, technique, colors, symbols, everything! (Yay Art History major)
