... I am going to be hard on you because I make icons. Your fonts, they're not great choices, they're sort of pixely and the colours don't really go together.
Generally, you pick a colour from the same family. But not a brighter one usually. And if you can't figure out what colour to use, see if either black or white works. And always turn on anti-alis UNLESS you're using pixel fonts. Also try not to pick such... Fancy fonts. Stick to more conservative, less grungy ones. Uh, yeah. It's mostly the fonts that I didn't like. Although your icons could use some good ol' sharpening... |

Are you using Photoshop? If you are, make sure your font's anti-alias setting is on 'smooth'.
Like fishcake-y, I think the color choices are questionable. You need to take each element of your icons into careful consideration. Think about colors, composition, and image choices. And also, there are a whole spectrum of color to choose from, be creative, use different shades and different mixes. You've got a ways to go. I know these are your first, but you're getting there. With the help of graphic experts around here, you'll be a bona-fide icon maker in no time. |

What program are you using?
Anyways, I agree with Reili about the text, and Melvin about the Colors. They are okay for a first set, but eh. |

Well for your first I suppose their decent.
It looks like you rely on the font a little to much, some of the light effects you stuck in the wrong place or they were a little to strong like on the last one.. Perhaps make more, practice makes perfect |
