There you have it folks. Immaturity. Anyway, so why am I immature? Because I'm against gay marriages? Considering that about half of the population (I'm guessing at the stastics here) disagree with gay marriages, there bound to be a lot of immature people walking around. |

Very immature of you to point out the flaws of other people only to make yourself feel better. My opinions about gay marriages are only lame because they go against your high and mighty and righteous ones. (Which I consider lame because you have nothing to back them up with *snickers*). Who says that I have must be mature when arguing? I don't see you policing other immature people out there. Ah, I must be one of the special ones, Edit:: Looks who's being 'irrelevent' now, bashing our trying President not in the 'president bashing' topic, but here! What a crime! Once again, who made you an admin to regulate HOW people should argue? I don't tell you what to do, so it's best that you don't tell me what to do. |

I never told you what to do. you're just being ridiculous. anyways, theres no reason why gay marriages should be wrong besides that rubbish called the bible.

Psshhhh, just so you know, pointing out someone's immaturity doesn't make you look very mature. So try to get over it before you make a bigger fool of yourself But I don't believe in the Bible, and I still think that it's wrong. Sue me. |

this also goes along with the 'whether you believe in God or not' one..
if God makes everyone, and he makes people gay or lesbian or not, then shouldnt they be allowed the same rights under God's eyes as any other person? some people treat gay and lesbian people as white people treated african american people way back when (and some still do). does our Constitution not say "all men are created equal"? what, gay and lesbian people arent humans or something? all humans deserve the same rights no matter what they believe in. gay and lesbian people cant help it if theyre gay or lesbian. its just what they are. just like a 3-year-old cant help it if he/she is 3 years old. you cant do anything about it. people should be able to be who they are. |

Good point about the Constitution, but then if all men are created equal and if all men should recieve the same rights, then shouldn't all groups of people be allowed the same rights? Example: incest, the old and young, teachers and students? |

But are you saying that it's a natural right to marry or natural right to love? Not all unions between old and young would be bad. How would we know if it's any safer for a 16 year old girl to marry mature 30 year old guy than the girl marrying someone her age? What if they are truly in love, like in the case with homosexual couples? If driving and getting a job makes people happy, then it's in their 'natural right' to be happy driving or getting a job. Therefore, driving and getting a job is an indirect natural right. |

QUOTE(illyria @ Jun 4 2004, 10:37 AM) How is it off topic if we're talking about rights that are in the Constitution? If it's homosexual's right to marry, as most of you are saying, then shouldn't that right extend to all groups of people? My examples do not have to be based on sexuality, because I can just based them on the rights of the people (generalize it). It's still very valid. You're just trying to rule it out because you have no antithesis for it. Don't be a kill joy. |

they can choose what they wanna do.
and you honestly can't help who you are attracted to. some people are actually...well born gay belive it or not. I don't find anyhting wrong with it and i agree with the first post, it will decrease the population and help with adoption because most gay couples like to adopt. i don't think there is anything wrong with it, and i find it acutally beautiful //edit// "Please remember, not everyone thinks like you. I'm not going to argue that they shouldn't marry because it is indeed true that you cannot help who you love. The only thing I'm aiming for now is justice. If one group of people can marry, why not another? Their love isn't so different as straight people or gay people. <-- must work now. debate later. have a nice day peopel!! |

Okay Mr. Smart ass Don't whine and call people names just because you can't get your point across. It's very 'immature'. EDIT QUOTE how do you know you're straight? all you know is that when you hit puberty that you were attracted to boys/girls. (notrealsurewhatyouare. sorry.) it's really nothing you can explain. just a feeling from within that you have. a natural feeling. homosexuals cannot help who they are. all they kno is who they are attracted to. just like a boy knows that girls get him excited. well a girl growing up might realized that guys just don't do anything for her. but girls do. That's fine with me. But then just like you said, you can't help who you love. Well, what if a 14 year old girl decided that she loves a man thrice her age? Or a brother decides that his sister is the world to him and cannot live without her? Same cases. They all love each other, and cannot help to be who they are. So why do we give right to one group of lovers and not the other? If I'm being unfair for my disagreement with gay marriages, you guys are being unfair for not agreeing with love between other groups of people. We all discriminate. Not just me. I'm open to your opinions because you all have convinced me that it is too true that one cannot choose who they love. But to say that homosexuals have more rights to love each other than a brother and sister do, that's not fair either. QUOTE war kills people, doy doy. ooh yes let us decrease the population that way!!! it's a weak attempt to try and belittle iheartsimba's argument. You just resonded to a rhetorical statement. Good for you. But next time, try to read the stuff in the paranthesis before saying something like that. It's a weak attempt to try and belittle my arguement. QUOTE okay. even i don't understand this one. you're gonna have to explain it to me... is there supposed to be a "not" in between the "why" and "let" yeah just not gettin it... ignorance is a wonderful thing Right, you got me there. There is a 'not' between those words. Though, I thought that was obvious, too. |
