Kazaa vs. Limewire vs. WinMx Options

actually, limewire is better than ares. but i like the fact that you have playlists and can see when youre listening to on the bottom on ares, otherwise id switch

i used to use kazaa lite k++ until it got shut down! it was awesome; i found everything! now i use ares and limewire. unfortunately, ares doesn't work for me anymore. =[ but limewire is great.

i used all of them... i like limewire best b/c its fastest and i find most of the songs im looking for on it

funny thing is that you can download limewire pro off of regular limewire.

Observation :
WinMX, Morpheus, Kazaa, iMesh, Grokster, eDonkey, BearShare
=> Slow in downloading, few searches, adware add in

Shareaza vs Bittorent
=> Shareaza faster in downloading but still take months for a bundle of movie (series), need more user to get 100+ kbps download speed, Bittorent less user friendly interface makes ppl bored easily & seems the download would take forever (psychologically). Shareaza is very good program for bundle download than Bittorent. Not suitable for one by one file download (better Ares/Limewire).

Ares vs Limewire
=>Similarities : User friendly, fast searches, fast downloading, variety of search result
=>Different :
Ares is much more easier for downloading because it use less memory but absorb almost >60% of your connection, the speed could be >700+ kbps speed ....
LimeWire less 100 kbps download speed, use larger memory than Ares causing slow start-up loading for old pcs yet it still give good download speed but not as fast as Ares ...

Conclusion :
Ares & Limewire promise a very competitive speed of download, limewire somehow lose in maximum speed but sometime Limewire gives better searching than Ares does. Ares seems fixed their 99% slow moment, this gives permanent user for Ares.

i used to use winmx but then i could never find most of the songs i wanted. i tried kazaa for a bit and didn't like it at all. now i just use limewire. :)

Ok, as old this thread is, it doesn't matter what client you use. Especially all you bearshare/limewire users.

Limewire and bearshare connect to the Gnutella network, your gonna get the same results.

Kazaa- Fast Track
eDonkey/eMule - eDonkey 2000 network. Etc etc. Ranking in the number of users and files, eDonkey is first, followed by Fasttrack then Gnutella.

Unless you use Hashlinks and ED2K links for the ladder, you aren't going to get the fastest speeds in the world, unless for ED2K you connect to a server with the files you're looking for, and choose the top file that is shared the most.

This is where Bittoreent has its advantage, you can choose which ones you want, and there are tons of seeds and leechers for a particular item you are looking for, and they're mostly on sites which make it easier to choose. Personally I'd use either ED2K or BT, as I use those. Sadly, the offical ED2k client got shut down by the RIAA after a 30 million non suing agreement.

Lastly, ARES is great too. It connects to its own Ares network as of either last or the year before that. If you use Ares, don't look for anything besides Music. As Ares has tons and tons of Music, and it's great for that. But everything else they have, is either very limited ot crap.

its smaller not really any advertisements

Does any other P2P connect to multiple networks like Shareaza? That's one feature I like. It connects to every network all other P2P connect to.

i barely dont use any of them anymore ....i use MIRC and some College P2p programs too get Songs and other files sometimes some forum sites , reasons being is because the Federal Government & Major Record Companies go hand in hand to investigate ip addresses and whoever is illegaly downloading music through the use of open open p2p sharing programs . Unless you try to share music you would need another persons consent and the sole owner , so like Forums and MIRC are arlight . Torrents and Programs ....good luck if your internet speed wont slow down by half and you would get in trouble with your internet service provider morel ike being arrested , it seems like most Record Companies and Internet Companies share the same factions /

Limewire has worked the best for me so far.

Everytime I've tried using Kazaa, its killed my computer.

I'm more into using Bittorrents right now though. You can download entire cds at one time.
