^That's what I was wondering.
Something tells me you're definitely a minor. How old are you, exactly? |

^ Eh, you're still at two very different points in your life. If you both take this relationship serious and it's something meaningful your mom still needs to respect that. I hate to say it, but some parents just need to let their kids make their own mistakes. She can't protect you if someone who's older than you breaks your heart or uses you in any way (not saying only older guys could). You're an adult and you can make your decisions and she just needs to trust that you will make the right ones and learn from the wrong ones.
But, if this is putting a big strain on your relationship with your mom maybe you need to assess the importance of your relationship with him. Guys come and go and you're mom's been there your whole life (I'm assuming), so is it worth it to lose her over him? I'm not saying it's to that point, but that's something that happened to my brother. He gave up everything to be with a girl who was a few months older than me actually, and he ended up losing us because he pretty much aleinated us to be with her. Sorry for such a long post. edit: Umm, maybe you should do more things with the both of them. Then your mom can find out she relates to him and that's he's not just some older guy dating his daugter. |

Respect your mom's feelings. She's just looking out for you. Give her some credit—she's been around a bit longer and has likely learned from those experiences.

just as long as your mother isnt stalking you and spying. its fine. shes just worried. might be being a little overprotective, but ehg. maybe you can tell her, ask her to understand that you are doing the right thing and that youll try to watch yourself, even though nothing bad bad is gonna happen. Creepy... >.> ... <.< anyway.. This only means she cares about you and wants the best for you even though you are 18 and are of age to be called an adult. |

im 18 According to your profile, you're 17. Did you ever stop and think about why he's with you? As mature as you may think you are, 17 is nothing compared to 27/28. He's experienced life and you haven't. You don't know what the real world is like, you can't drink or vote yet. What can you two possibly talk about? |

Age isn't a big deal to me, but I do have to question what a 27-year-old is doing with a 17-year-old. No offense, but I really, really have to wonder what you two would really have in common. And I have to wonder why you're doing it in the first place—seems like it'd be a lot more fun for you to hang out with someone your own age, too. |

Well, for the people who are questioning his intentions in this relationship, they've only been dating a short time. Hence, my comment about parents letting their children making their own mistakes. Maybe once she assess the relationship she'll find for herself that they don't have much in common and it won't have the chance to get serious.

Girl he is way to old for you and you have to think that you guys have diffrent perspectives. He is in the age when he wants to almost start settling down because he isnt always going to be single and you are JUST starting your youth. Dont you want to live alittle? hang out, go to parties, go to the mall with your friends? This guy is older now and I doubt he does the same things he used to do when he was 17/18. You need to think about what you want in the realtionship and think what he wants. And dont blame your mom if i was her i would do the same. Besides what is he doing withsomeone who is 10 years younger then him? just a question. |
