What's your religion and what does it mean to you, personally? It's not a debate... it's just your personal relationship with your faith. Or lack of religion, whatever. How does it relate to you? No fighting, arguing, whatsoever.

I'm a Christian and I see God as my comfort. Whenever I'm upset and don't have anybody to go to, I know he's there and it calms me. He's like a friend that's always there for me and when I have nobody to turn to, I know I can turn to him because he loves me unconditionally.

I'm not usually this sentimental, but this morning I got into the fifth huge fight with my mother and it resulted in her kicking me out of the house. Again. And I'm driving and crying because I feel like I'm just this worthless... thing... and I turn on the radio to the Christian station and they're singing about how God is always there and never gives up on us and at that moment I had to pull over and pray, which is something that I haven't done in what seems like months.

I guess it's just comforting to know that he's the one that will never turn his back on me. My parents, my friends... they can all reject me at any time they wont, but he's the one that sticks around.

That's how I view my religion and my relationship with God.

Most people only pray to God when they need something from him. sad.gif

And to answer your question, No I don't. I want to know that my whole life isn't just a test in order to get into heaven. I just want to live my life the way I want to. And quite frankly, The Bible's just crap.

I grew up as a Mormon, and learned all the Bible stories and then some. I grew up sheltered from caffeinated drinks and learned modesty and other things. As I grew older and developed a mind of my own, I did not find comfort in this being called God. I felt no answers to my prayers, and no guidance from any omniscient other being. I envied Jesus loving Christians that were so happy with worshipping God. In an attempt to feel that love that they did, I went to a Baptist church with my friend.

But now I know, that I do not believe in God, and I'm not sure I ever will. We'll see.

I grew up as a Christian. Never been to church though to officially say that I'm a Christian, because my mom was always busy, but my friend would let me borrow her bible. I used to be very dedicated in helping out the society to be a better person. And also I prayed every night and everyday at dinner. I was just.. yeah, so dedicated to becoming like a home-schooled Christian or whatever. But now I'm agnostic. >.> I don't know what to believe. Some of the stuff in the bible are just ridiculous. >.> Now I'm interested in science, so when I think about the stuff scientifically that God has to do with Earth, I just think it's impossible. Still, I'm inbetween on the balance scale. Who's to say he really is real? Who's to say he doesn't exist? Does anybody have actual proof? ermm.gif

I don't have any religion, and really, I'm quite happy the way I am. I've been to church a few times with my mom (she's Catholic), but I haven't really thought much about believing in any sort of God.

Actually, I prayed to thank him for being with me, not to ask something from him.

And even though I respect your choice for not believing in God and would respect you no matter what you believed in, I'd appreciate it if you didn't say stuff that puts down other religions...

Muchas gracias, Jose.

My parents are Hindus, and I can't say my relationship with Hinduism is the best. I tried to believe in God, and I even explored different religions. However, even with all the praying and faith I tried to have in God, nothing came out of it, and I see no reason to believe in one.

I hope that you patch things up with your Mom. console.gif

I love God with everything. I don't know how to explain it, but He is my everything. Happy, sad, anything, I turn to God wherever I go. My world revolves around Him. I know this is all very vague, but I can't put into words what He means to me.
