Who has more of an advantage. early bloomer or late bloomer?, A debate Options

Who is at more of an advantage growing up? The early bloomer or the late bloomer? My friend and I were debating this. She is my complete opposite far as puberty is concerned. LOL I hit puberty rather late. I am almost 15 now and still pretty much wearing a training bra and have just a little public hair. No hips no nothing. Changing in gym class is a terrible experience. I hate swimming. Boys treat me like their little sister. I look like a 5th grader and i've had to watch helplesslyas my friends grow breasts and get periods or whatnot and everything back in 5th and 6th grades. As a result, my self esteem is completely shot.

My friend argues that she had it worse, because she had started getting breasts at like 9 and had her period in the 4th grade. She hated being the only girl in her class wearing a bra. She was a busty 12-year-old. It was very hard on her. She tells me how lucky I am that i don't have to deal with a period every month. But with her everyone else eventually caught up. So I think she was better off. In the long run anyways. Thoughts?

Yeah this is like me and my sister. She got her period in the fifth grade, 3 days before me when I was in the seventh grade. But I wouldn't want to start my period at such an early age. I'm not that much of a late bloomer though.

but i think an early bloomer is "better". yea the boys are immature and dont know how to react to girls changing that early but when you hit junior high and high school you're just fine. when everyones changing and you aren't that is harder.

i don't really know... i think a late bloomer is better... b/c when you get it early it's sorta embarassing.... you have to change your pads and like yours boobs are hella bigger than other people... and i mean also blooming late means not having to go through periods as early!

i was in the same exact situation as your friend, except i don't think it was all that bad being an early bloomer. yeah, having my period at such a young age sucked, but other than that i was glad that i matured earlier than everyone else. so im gunna say that the early bloomer has more of an advantage.

I'd rather have been an early bloomer. I woulda rocked those boobays. haha.
I'm a late bloomer, and I'm really uncomfortable about myself... I have hips now, but I'm still waiting on the boobs. My whole family (well women) have been late bloomers.
It makes me uncomfortable, esspecially when it comes to guys

Yeah, i agree. Neither is really an ideal situation. But I still stick with my argument. I mean try being 15 and still shopping in the little girls section. Not fun!

If only the boobs could come a long ways before getting the period.

Well, both have their ups and downs differently.
But...I'd have to say that early bloomers get it better.

Even though it is a bother, getting your period early and all, you won't have to really worry about it later on. You wouldn't need to stress out, asking yourself/people "OMGZ WHY DIDNT I GET MAH PERIOD YET?!?!?!" or "MY BOOBS ARE SMALL WHY?!?!?!" And when you're growing into that age where boys really matter.. your boobs won't be a problem to you.

You know it matters what you were, your always going to think the oppisite is better. I on the other hand was a early person, I hated it. Still do in many ways, although now everyone is pretty much up with you. I don't really care about what others think on the outside appearence so much, so I would say being a late bloomer is fine. Although I don't know in some ways maturity goes along with this whole growing up and puberty stuff, so I would say being a early bloomer has its advantages as well.

Both are pretty much equal.

i think both have their disadvantages...

early bloomers have awkwardness at the beginning because they're like the ONLY ones with boobs and whatnot, and they can be made fun of. and then later on guys start hitting on them which gets creepy since not many other girls have developed as much. but then afterwards everyone's at the same level.

late bloomers don't have to deal with being awkward at first, but then when girls start developing and they don't, they feel like something's wrong with them, and chances are guys won't be attracted to them AS easily.

im an easrly bloomer. I think its better to be early so when u hit highschool and the like, you'll be used to the routine of periods and the like while others will be flipping out caue they're just not used to all the change yet. all the girls in my grade are ahem...Late and early..im with the earlies

i think the late bloomer, which i might only be saying this b/c i was one, but i realized that they got all the attention in middle school, but once we hit high school and one summer i grew boobs and all the goods i was getting all the attention and not them...so in the long run i think its the late bloomers

You have a chance to develop a great personality despite you being behind everyone, and when you finally do bloom, you won't look like you did a few years ago.

Which is why I kinda pity freshman who look like they're twenty.
That's the best they'll ever look in there entire lives.
