I make a thread on cologne in the lounge, and you post up links from like 2 years ago similar to it. That's why I hesitate to make threads, all of them gets f**king closed cuz there were similar threads to it from 2 DAMN YEARS AGO!!! if it was a similar thread from at least a month old-week old, id understand .. but come on .. stop with this BS.

Why not just PM him and say that instead of making a new thread?

If they're that old, we're usually pretty lenient about that sort of thing (we either leave it alone or merge the two).

Eh, you know what.. I don't see why we can't discuss this, I'll move it to feedback.

Why did you make a new thread just to complain about one person? All we want is to endorse the use of the Search Bar. And if you hesitate to make threads, why don't you just include the fact that you know that there are similar topics when you make a new one?

Maybe he was just showing you, not saying that your thread should be deleted or whatever. Maybe he figured you'd be interested?

You should have PMed him for this, though, instead of making a new thread...

If you see the forum rules thread in the Lounge, you will read that you can make new threads if they are over 6 months old.

Your thread was not deleted nor closed, but simply merged with the other since the latest reply was made at the end of August 2006.

I don't understand why you're frustrated at Ian.

I'm sorry if I upset you. I was just trying to help. In my defense, your topic got merged and if you didn't notice I said they were ancient so you could keep it open. It wasn't closed. Here I will quote my post. Again I am very sorry.

QUOTE
There is already a topic like this. Let me find the link.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...Perfume+Cologne <-- Your favorite cologne.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...perfume+Cologne <-- Kind you use.

It's ancient. You may be able to keep this open. You may want to move this to the Boy's Locker though.

I agree that you should've PMed him.
Your topic wasn't closed, so you shouldn't complain nor refrain from posting new threads.

Honestly, from Ians posts you shouldn't have taken it offensive. He said those topics were ancient which you also said they were over 2 years old. Then Ian also said that you could keep it open. So honeslty, I don't see why your so mad at Ian, he agrees with you by the sound of it that it is a old topic and that you should be able to keep it open. Which also you did get to keep it open.

Just start PMing people instead of lashing out your anger in odd threads.

I usually mention that it's 2 years old. Or I just don't mention anything about it.

I only do that for duplicate topics that are like 3 months old. =/

I don't see anything Ian did wrong. He was just pointing it out. And even if he did do something wrong, he's not a mod so I wouldn't expect him to know.

I always leave newer topics open if the other is older than six months.
