Two Layouts, recently rejected...looking for feedback Options

Hey all!

I had these two layouts rejected, so I'm asking what you all think I can do to improve on them. Hopefully, I can resubmit them when they're ready again.

Constructive critisism only, please...tell me what you like and don't like about them if you can.

for the xanga layout 1, use transparent scrollbar or chroma scrollbar.

The first one is misaligned for me. That's the only problem that I see..

I don't see anything wrong about the second one.

i love those! i don't know why they weren't accepted....i love the 1st one. they look fine for me in IE, but in firefox there's no scrollbar, so it overlaps the rest of the layout.

Thanks for the feedback! I've never quite understood what firefox is, so I don't know how to fix the scrollbar thing. Thanks again...I'm going to see what I can do to fix those alignment and scrollbar problems.

I liked the first one and yes like everyone has said so far I've seen worse submitted. Yours is actually really nice. I don't see anything wrong with the first one at all it appears to function fine in firefox now if you've been tweaking it recently. Keep up the good work

Firefox is a web browser like I.E anyways, I see nothing wrong with the first one, but yes in the second one the blog is misaligned in firefox.

I like the first one a lot too...but i think the colors are too bright, it hurts my eyes when I look at it, I can only look at it for 1 min. And 2nd one, I really have no comment ._. not a fan of the artwork in family guide. So yea ._.;;

The first one: The banner is so much smaller than the blog/nav. It looks really weird.

The second one: It's bad image quality.

I like the header image on the first one and backgrounds on the headers, but it's too defaultish. The second one needs a scrollbar, because the text goes all the way to the bottom in Firefox. I like the image though.

Layout 1 - Awww, it's Jared! The first one isn't so bad, but the banner has a strange appearance because of the way it's positioned. I don't think that the image quality is bad though. The white brush used under the text in the banner is a bit WHOA WHITE for me, but again, nothing terrible, I just would have gone with a softer color, maybe a cream or something.

Layout 2 - The concept is good, but poor Stewie's head. I understand the broccoli thing, but make the edges smoother. The blog extending beyond what appears to be the blog area intended (the black box inside the green area) looks way weird. I think there is a lot of potential in this layout though.

Also, I think it's great that you haven't taken layouts being rejected personally. It's very cool that you're asking for advice on how to make them better. :)

i don't understand they were rejected either because i think they're great.

except maybe for the second one, instead of making the box, you can just make the top so that the entries down spill out.

i use firefox, btw.

For the first layout: It looks nice but either the banner has to be wider or the blog has to be thinner because I agree with Gypsy Eyes that it looks wierd because the banner is smaller than the blog//navigation ><

For the second layout: I think it's reallly cute! I love Family Guy, especially Stewie.

Other than that, great job! I've seen far worse layouts than those...such as some of my own...><

Wow old topic, I remember these layouts.

I think the first one looks decent I mean I've seen a lot worse on this site, but I think it would look better if the tables were the same width together as the header image. It just looks odd with the right table being so much bigger.
