I've never tried weed, and I don't plan on smoking anything, but there was this kid in seventh grade who got arrested for selling weed or something. It was pretty strange.

To be perfectly honest with everyone, I have smoked weed and I'm not ashamed of it. I'd be more ashamed to say that I smoke cigarettes every day. It's really not as bad as everyone seems to think it is. If anyone actually did a little research, they could find that out for themselves. Tobacco kills more people every day than marijuana does in.... oh, wait. I can't recall anyone ever dying from marijuana.
The whole "loss of brain cells" bit is a hot, steaming pile of elephant dung. The only reason it does kill brain cells is because of the Carbon Dioxide in the smoke that gets into blood which is then pumped to your brain. Last I checked, Carbon Dioxide exists in cigarette smoke too. With that being said, how many cigarettes do people smoke every day? A pack? Two packs? Guess how much weed a "stoner" smokes everyday? A half a blunt to a blunt, if that. That's a whole lot less smoke than the average cigarette smoker. The study a scientist conducted to come up with the "loss of brain cells while smoking marijuana" theory was pathetic. It consisted of a few apes in a room full of marijuana smoke for 13 hours a day. I'm sorry, but if you put anyone in a room full of any kind of smoke for 13 hours a day, they're gonna lose brain cells. Marijuana isn't addictive either. You can quit at any time unlike cigarettes which you have to go through a long, sometimes expensive drawn out process. Also, weed actually heightens your awareness and quickens your thought process. Driving while high is actually safer than driving normally. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true. We hear about drunk drivers killing people everyday, but how often do you hear in the news about people being killed my high drivers? Not often, if at all. I can't recall ever hearing of such an event. Even with these facts pointed out, the plant called tobacco that kills thousands every year is still legal, but the plant called marijuana, that is in all actuality much safer, is still illegal. But that's just because the government can't tax what's home grown! QUOTE ANNUAL AMERICAN DEATHS CAUSED BY DRUGS TOBACCO ........................ 400,000 ALCOHOL ........................ 100,000 ALL LEGAL DRUGS ................ 20,000 ALL ILLEGAL DRUGS .............. 15,000 CAFFEINE ....................... 2,000 ASPIRIN ........................ 500 MARIJUANA ...................... 0 ---------------------------------------- Source: United States government... National Institute on Drug Abuse, Bureau of Mortality Statistics I sound like such a stoner. I'm really not. I don't smoke weed very often at all but when I know the truth, I'll speak it. I honestly don't know why everyone thinks weed is so terrible when tobacco, the murderer of thousands, is still legal. It still continues to baffle me. Again, I don't smoke weed anymore. I just thought you guys should know the truth. |

^ It's subjective really and has to do with how long you've smoked, how much you've smoked and your body type. It also depends on what grade you're smoking. Dirt weed is going to have to be smoked WAYYY more often than very green/purple-y weed.
Um. I used to. (Although I was more of a "water pipe" type of smoker). We used to have that thing loaded pretty much all day. Haven't in years though. |

Yeah, what Rebecca said. It all depends. It wouldn't satisfy me either, but I was trying to base it on a general term. Even so, you'd still inhale a lot less smoke than you would with cigarettes. Smoke a half of a blunt of high-grade or hashish. I think you'll be set for quite a while. |

^ It's actually really good for that. It calms you down and relieves stress. I feel great after I get through with it. That's also why in some rare cases they use "medical marijuana."
notice how those who do smoke type hour long answers defending pot..do what you want & just watch how it affects your life.. Uhhhh... correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe mine was the only "hour long" answer. I was trying to clarify what so many people misunderstand. If you took the time to even read it all you'd see that. I'm tired of this mentality towards weed as being so bad for you when it really isn't. It relaxes me. It helps me out, if anything. It saddens me how naive and brainwashed some people are. That goes for a lot of issues in the world. Not just weed. They just believe what they hear and don't even take the time to research anything. I had smoked for over 4 years (not every day, no, haha) and I had and still do have great grades, a wonderful girlfriend, I'm pretty popular and I'm on my way to a successful acting career. I've already gotten invited to be on CSI: Miami as a role for an episode. Yeah, it's really effecting my life alright. |

^ Haha. The only way I can see it ruining anyones life is if someone gets thrown in jail. In that case, anything illegal can ruin your life.

^Why the hell are you saying so many dumb things? Of course anything illegal could potentially ruin your life. That's why they're illegal.
And alcohol isn't illegal, so that comment isn't really relevant anyway. im sorry mom, i didnt know you had a createblog account too. Oh, haha. Be a bigot. Ignorance is fun, right? QUOTE Also, weed actually heightens your awareness and quickens your thought process. Driving while high is actually safer than driving normally. No, that's bullshit. You're not looking at all the facts. Weed heightens your concentrations, but it limits your ability to focus on more than one thing at once, and you definitely need to be able to multitask to drive, so that isn't good, and it very much is more likely to cause accidents. For the record, I'm not against smoking at all. I'm against stupidity, and people jumping to conclusions that are completely untrue. |

And alcohol isn't illegal, so that comment isn't really relevant anyway. And what's hilarious is that you're the one who just said a pretty dumb thing. You failed to understand the context of the posts before. Shahin was poking fun at hixfive's post and I was playing along by saying that's the only way it could really "ruin" your life. Wow. Pay attention. There's a reason we use the "^" sign. QUOTE No, that's bullshit. You're not looking at all the facts. Bullshit, eh? Look guys. She calls BS on me. I suppose that's why virtually no one has had an accident while being high. And I suppose that's why I can drive just fine as well as all my friends while high. If you're going by personal experience with the whole multitask issue it may be a personal problem. QUOTE For the record, I'm not against smoking at all. I'm against stupidity, and people jumping to conclusions that are completely untrue. Agreed 100%. I am too. That's why I replied to that long post before because I'm tired of the stupidity and incorrect conclusions about marijuana. |

QUOTE Wait.... you knew that... right? Yes. QUOTE I suppose that's why virtually no one has had an accident while being high According to what? QUOTE If you're going by personal experience with the whole multitask issue it may be a personal problem. What? No. Think about it. You have to pay attention to a lot of things at once while driving. Generally, people do think they drive better while high, because you can concentrate better, but if you're too concentrated on one thing, you're much more likely to miss something else potentially fatal. |

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Go look it up. Well I see what you mean but I've honestly always been able to. When I'm "too concentrated on one thing" it's driving. Therefore, it's all aspects of driving. Your mind will still remember the whole idea of driving. It does just say "Look at the road, look at the road, look only at the road" or make you only stare at the rear view mirror or only stare at the speedometer. |

I don't see a citation. And I'll point out that I know all too many people who say "Drunk? Gimme my f**king keys back. I drive better when I'm drunk." Your claims sound almost exactly the same. |

It's your job to back up such strong claims. Michael just asked the same thing of you as I did. I can't really figure out what you're trying to say. You may have meant that it doesn't, but as is, I can point out that looking solely at the road or anything else is not a good thing. Especially since it slows your reactions..so I cannot believe that people haven't gotten into accidents when high. And yeah, people think they drive better drunk too, but that doesn't make it true. |
