Okay so everyone being treated equally. So if people were to do that then they would treat every mod like they were Kathleen, since Kathleen is so well liked around here and everyone seems to trust her decision?

Editted back since he responded to the post. pinch.gif

^actually, i think if we were to go with an 'all people being treated equally' approach, then the mos tlikely outcome would be more questioning of people lik ekathleen, not more trust in the mods overall.

but why on earth would i treat all the mods equally if they arent equally good at their jobs? benefit of the doubt only lasts so long before 'useless' is fair.

o. you editted your post away. poo on you.

Ok, back to the moderator changes and since no one responded to what I believe was the point :

Yep, he had a name change. I know it's a tiny one, but it still should have been mentioned here.

To add to that, I talked to Kathleen about it on the phone the night it happened and she knew what she was getting into and she seemed fine with being demoted. She admitted to doing it so others wouldn't get punished for her wrong doing. She knew that she would get demoted and even so she still admitted it, which is honorable to say the least. Kathleen has a good head on her shoulders and I believe she's at peace with the decision. I know if Kathleen was an admin, she would have to do the same thing to anyone else who broke the same rule. I remember when she and I discussed how everyone should be treated equally. With that being said, I think she knows it was the right decision.

Other people getting in trouble would not be an issue if certain people were rational in the first place.

Uhh. I agree with everything else except the bolded. I can honestly say that I wouldn't have done the same thing in that position (due to the issue at hand). I would demote a moderator if they were blatantly spamming and abusing their powers and/or were inactive (in fact, I checked the admin CP everyday to see what moderators were actually performing moderator actions). Breaking a rule against Staff members is entirely different than breaking a rule against the Community. [/two cents]

Just my opinion. Admins, if you're considering hiring one or two persons, tina would be great for people staff.

Radhika, you were one of my top choices this last hiring session. It's too bad that you didn't have time for it.. Let's hope next time when things calm down you can apply and join us again. _smile.gif

Radhika...
Although I don't know you well,
you seemed to do a great job while you were still on staff (I wans't too active then so I'm in no place to judge).
Hope everything is fine for you. :)

Hey Radhika -

I hope you find more time in the future as well. It's hard to make decisions like these and you were mature enough to know and honest enough to step down when you knew you couldn't juggle everything. :)

Good luck with school and I look forward to (hopefully) seeing you back on staff one day if you should choose to reapply. :)

Thanks, guys. Aaah, I'm fucking swamped with homework right now, f'real. pinch.gif I shouldn't even be on. Oh well, the library is open early tomorrow, and I'm taking advantage. To top it all off, I have a MUN position paper due Fri, tech rehersals everyday this week, the opening night of a play on Fri, and an information night from a school I'm applying to on Thurs.

Yeah, it's not exactly easy to work in cB on those circumstances. *prays even though i'm an atheist*

So, I just read the entire topic and wow, THIS IS THE INTERNET PEOPLE. It's like some of you have got no lives whatsoever. As much as I love Kathleen, she did break a rule, get over it. Most of you are taking it WAY too serious than Kathleen herself.

I honestly do not know your (James) history with Mona but calling her useless is a little extreme.

I'm late, I know. Having a life sucks sometimes.
